She earned international acclaim in 1997 for her role as Liz in Harry Sinclair’s highly successful feature "Topless Women Talk About Their Lives", for which she received Best Actress at the 1997 New Zealand Film and Television Awards, while her recent performance in Anthony McCarten’s "Via Satellite" drew further praise. Her centaur husband (?lover?) died just before Xenan was born. Ephiny has helped both Xena and hercules many a time. In a battle against Pompey, led by Brutus, Ephiny is killed in battle by Brutus. She died a heroic death. Marie DeValle - a fun character, that occurs in1789 in France. Our heros are in Paris. "And I’d seen KEVIN SMITH in a television programme and thought he could be perfect for Geoff." "They kidnapped me very early on in the project!" recalls Cormack. "I hadn’t actually seen a final draft script when I first auditioned." Working with Writer/Director Christine Parker and having input into the development of her character was a major draw-card for the actor: "It was something I’d never experienced before and Bunnie is a character who develops so thoroughly throughout the story." "It's not the type of work you are able to enjoy on a regular basis, especially something as layered as this," adds Kevin Smith. "Characters are rarely allowed this level of development. Geoff was so rich and as an actor, I don't often get an opportunity to play such roles outside the theatre. I’ve been the generic bad guy in New Zealand so this really allowed me a chance to flex myself. It was my first chance outside theatre to put myself in a stringent environment where I was forced to confront unfamiliar areas." Extractions: August 29, 1998 I'd read the reports from Danielle Cormacks' few convention appearances so far. My general impression was that she was very blown away by the crowds of fans, a bit overwhelmed, and kind of quiet and shy under the tide of people. I guess she got used to it. When Danielle was introduced, a little woman swathed in sweats, a towel wrapped around her head, and wraparound mirror shades strutted onto the stage, grabbed the microphone, and announced in a crazy Bronx-ish accent "Yo! I'm gonna do a rap for you!" She broke into four or five verses about Ephiny, the amazons, and Xena and Gabrielle. I spent most of it rubbing my eyes in disbelief. She then had the crowd sing the classic striptease song while she peeled off the sweats and headgear to reveal Danielle looking much more like we've seen her on our TV screens. She bounced all over the stage during her questions and answers and got incredibly goofy with us all. She blamed it on the huge amounts of chocolate she'd eaten - "That KitKat's kicking in now" - but she sure seemed to have a lot of fun. She told us she was getting too cocky with the convention scene now and predicted that we were going to knock her knees out from under her, but it never happened. She managed to hop on top of anything thrown her way. [Sharon Delaney, by the way, reported to us later that Danielle made up that rap and the outfit on her way to the convention. Impressive!]

Extractions: January 21, 2000 Danielle has learned how to have SERIOUS fun with a convention. She made lots of raunchy centaur jokes and would gallop and hum the Bonanza theme from one end of the stage to the other. And every time the crowd laughed at another horse joke, she responded with "I *love* America!" Danielle set the tone for her appearance right off the bat by telling us that the question she gets asked the most is "What's it like giving birth to a centaur?" Danielle's response was a painfully wide-legged stance. She also broke into a song about Ephiny and Phantes, including lines about 'riding bareback' and 'why not? Xena wasn't available.' There were no holds barred after THAT start. Danielle said she would have been interested in exploring Ephiny's darker side, but that she "met the sword" before that could happen. That meeting of the sword, though, was something that Danielle was pretty excited about at first. She had never done a death scene before, and compared it to a chance to play Hamlet for actors. She replayed for us the long dramatic death scene she had envisioned, including the staggers, the gasps, the additional staggers, the final words, a few more staggers... and so on and so on. (The audience heartily approved of Danielle's version.) "But! They gave me one shot! Disappointed!" When asked about using an American accent, Danielle poo- pooed her first few attempts at it as an "American-Irish- Kiwi-South African accent."
