The son of an orthopedic surgeon, he and younger brothers, Chris and Randy, grew up in California. He began acting in amateur productions at age 13, and graduated from Valhalla High School in El Cajon, CA in 1985. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Southern California in 1989 and began acting professionally soon thereafter. Eric is currently part of the ensemble cast of Without a Trace , which airs Thursdays at 10pm Eastern on CBS in which he plays a member [Martin Fitzgerald] of an FBI team investigating missing persons. Okay, as per a testimony on the Promise Keepers' TV Special last year: The Power of a Promise Kept. Eric Close, an Actor from the TV series Dark Skies is a Christian. He states that he was in NC working on a pilot, when one of the camera men told him about PK. They flew to Anaheim for that year's conference. He went with his dad and brother, and I assume, the camera man. His role on Dark Skies: As the idealistic Loengard, Close portrays a congressional aide who discovers the truth about a stealthlike extraterrestrial invasion and the equally clandestine government attempt to keep its investigation under wraps. "My character becomes a warrior because his beliefs in justice and his country are shattered by a top-secret agency more powerful than the government he serves," he says. "He's not a superman, but he just reacts and rises to the occasion while committed to protecting his girlfriend when she needs it." Other shows Eric Close has been in: He was cast as athlete Sawyer Walker on NBC's daytime drama "Santa Barbara," then became a series regular on "McKenna" in 1994.
