Extractions: Casey Biggs was born April 4, 1955. Growing up in Toledo, Ohio, Casey chose to pursue an acting career while he was still a student at Central Catholic High. He actually had a fair amount of talent as a football player, but it was on the stage acting that made him feel most comfortable. After dropping football, which he had taken up in his freshman year, he concentrated his energy on serious acting, joining the Toledo Repertory Theater, where Roy Fluhrer served as his mentor, giving the young actor the encouragement. Fluhrer would influence Casey for life, as did other Toledoans. Carolyn Seeman and Jerry DePrisco at Catholic High and actress Eve Weiher also influenced Casey considerably. While still in high school, Casey befriended Frank Fischer, who, along with Bill Blinn, is a Hollywood producer. Fischer would accompany Casey to New York to audition for entrance in the Julliard School. He was accepted! And after high school graduation in 1973, Casey spent four years in the hallowed halls of the most famous arts school in the world. After receiving a BFA from Julliard in 1977, Casey had some guest roles in television sitcoms, but his love of the stage was the center of his professional life. He joined John Houseman's prestigious performance troupe,touring America and Europe with a large cast. Casey, having joined The Acting Company, was also a member of the famed Arena Stage in Washington D.C., where he performed as Odysseus in Homer's Odyssey in 1994.

Casey, who is a former foster child, praised the girls for achieving good grades in school and pursuing their dreams. He recounted how he auditioned for The Juilliard School and was accepted amongst stiff competition. For years, Casey has raised money for the scholarship fund in his name. Wherever his travels take him regarding his film and television appearances, Casey has spoken about Penny Lane and his support of the Penny Lane Family program. This year, at a breakfast in Monrovia, along with other cast members of the Star Trek series, Casey was able to raise over $6,000 for the scholarship fund.

On this particular weekend, we plan a number of events at and around the Alamo complex. This is our main function each year. Our 2002 Annual ADDA Memorial Weekend kicked off on Friday evening, March 1 st in San Antonio. Attendees met at the Crockett Hotel at 7:00 PM for an exciting time of reunion and fellowship. We had a great time of renewing past acquaintances and gaining new ones. It is also exciting to meet new members of the organization during this time. We are always pleased to have special guests attend our activities. This years special guests included: Casey Biggs (he played the character of Travis in Alamo The Price of Freedom IMAX presentation and has played in other major Hollywood productions) and Enrique Sandino (he played the character of Santa Ana in Alamo The Price of Freedom). A silent auction was held during the fellowship time to benefit a childrens charity that Casey Biggs sponsors.
