The cemetery is located behind the Mattinburg church. This cemetery is fenced and well kept. Read on Mat 24, 1998 by John and Nelda Strube and submitted by the Upshur County Historical Commission. Thanks to Geraldine Little Braswell and Ernest Glenn Campbell for the pictures and information in green from their personal files. As hard as we all try, we are human and sometimes when reading a cemetery we miss a grave covered with leaves, fireants, or bushes. Sometimes the headstone has sunk and is mostly underground. Our area also has many graves only marked with iron ore rocks and even many unmarked graves. There are headstones that have long ago been destroyed by the elements or even vandalizm, and are hard to impossible to read the details. We would appreciate it if you would let us know if you did not find your relative which was buried

Extractions: Marysville WA This section is an oval that was once the center of the cemetery. It is totally circled by lanes. We called it section 4... the cemetery doesn't. The plots in section 4 are individual size. We read the rows south to north as most of the headstones faced east. This is our own numbering system for this presentation only. The unusual aspect of this section is the ends of the oval that were made as pie slices and the headstones are not in orderly lines. The west end was all read together for that reason. There is a flag in this section. This is an extraction... we proofread to prevent errors but errors are still present. Extractions: By J. J. Lail jjl@shelby.net This section is located by going in the main entrance off of Hwy 150. When you reach the beginning of the circle drive, look straight and you will see the fountain in the center of the park. I started this audit on Nov 25, 2000. There are four walkways that start at the fountain and go either north, south, east, or west. I started by standing at the fountain, facing north,(toward hwy 150) and starting at the beginning of the east walkway. This partion lies between the north and the east walkway. I call this part the north-east section. Davidson, Elma H 1891 - 1974
