Extractions: Sanders - Saunders Marriage Records Part 9, Illinois Sponsored by Sanders Family Association W elcome to the Sanders Family Marriage Records of our Sanders History section. This site is sponsored by the Sanders Family Association , a national non-profit family club for all descendants of the many Sanders-Saunders families in America. Visit the family club's HOME page to learn more about the club's purpose and goals. These marriage records have been obtained from a variety of sources, including directly from courthouse records, published books and magazines and from lists sent in by relatives. In many cases, the date shown is not the actual date of marriage but rather when the marriage license or bond, was issued. This is especially true of older records. These are most likely a marriage "bond", a legal promise to marry the girl and if the marriage did not take place, the man and his bondsman forfeited the bond money. The family club urges everyone to gather Sanders - Saunders family marriage records and send these to us to preserve in the Sanders Family National Library. If you came directly to this site, be sure and visit the Sanders Family Association's
