I've tried making them on Sketchpad, and printing them out, but paper ones are rather flimsy and the cutting out is very time consuming. I got interested in these tiles because of an article in Discover magazine, February 1990. Does anyone have any other more recent (and not tooo complicated) articles or books to recommend? I would like to know what Steinhardt's procedures are for building Penrose tilings with strictly local rules and to find out if there has been any success at finding a related procedure for three dimensions.
