Extractions: LaRue County, Kentucky This listing was contributed by Edward Benningfield [ knobcreekboy@mindspring.com ]. Total records = 610. Copied in Summer 1998 (Hodgenville map, Section 25-M-46 Carter coordinates) This very old cemetery is located just west of highway 31-E about 5 miles south of Hodgenville. Rev. James Skaggs and Rev. Benjamin Lynn organized the church in 1782. The cemetery is old enough to date back to at least the early 1800s. Several old soldiers are here including B. F. Hutcherson, G. W. Edwards, Ralph Williams, Jacob Sallee, Thomas Sallee, Robert Sutherland and Conrod Walters. O. M. Mather copied the birth date of Charles Friend as 27 July 1777. O. M. Mather copied the death date of Elizabeth McDowell as 1856, however, I find her alive in 1860 census and use 1866 for her age to add up. - Edward Benningfield Abell, Robert H
