After going through Dike community, watch for Connor cemetery sign that will be on your left, turn right to cemetery. One must remember in those early years, most deaths were reported to the paper by a friend of the family. Even though obituaries can give good information on a person, one must be sure it is correct. If I have listed a person as being buried in an unmarked grave, one should make certain this is correct, as I have listed it only because the obituary said the person was buried in Connor Cemetery. He was sitting in a chair in front of the house handling a large 48 caliber revolver which he turned towards himself and placing the muzzle to his forehead pulled the trigger, boring a great hole out of which flowed his brains saturated with blood. He has long been an invalid and it is supposed that despondency caused him to kill himself. Aug. 19, 1891 Madden, Satirah, 52 years, 10 months and 24 days, d. Oct. 5. She had been suffering with a tumor in the throat for some time. Sunday night, after retiring, she called for a drink of water. Her daughter carried it to her and just as she reached the bed Mrs. Mann fell in her arms and expired, from hemorrage caused by the breaking of the tumor. The funeral occurred Monday at the family residence, Rev. Chas. Yelton officiating. Newton Times-Mentor, May 21, 1884

There are fifteen Cemeteries with in the Town of Marshfield and there are also some cemetery tombs that I have not gotten into but they are out there. These can be found in property deeds, and wills of property owners, like the Macomber tomb (off Summer Street), Ames tomb (off Church Street), Thomas tomb (Off King Phillips Path) White tomb (off Pleasant Street), and at one time there was a tomb on South River Road. There were about fifty graves that I could not find and there some markers that were un-readable. But worst then that some of these cemeterys are in a very sad state of conditions.
