Extractions: This is version 2.0 of the CNUCE ZC-235 user's manual, first published in September 1994 by the CNUCE Institute of the Italian National Research Council (CNR). This new version contains all the upgrades suggested by the RFC (Internet Request For Comment) in 1995. The fonts heading each section of this glossary are not the flights of fancy of a 60s psychedelic artist, but nature's own alphabet, etched in gossamer hues on the wings of butterflies. The discovery by Kjell B. Sandved that these lepidoptera harbored designs eerily close to our alphanumeric characters lead to his 20-year-long micro-photographic search to complete the full 36 character set which we present here in digitized form. A poster of the set is available from Butterfly Alphabet Inc. PO Box 39138, Washington DC 20016, Fax +1 202 966 5799. The Glossary of networking terminology presented in these WWW pages has been compiled from the publications "User Glossary Working Group" Internet Glossary January 1993, and "A Glossary of Networking Terms" We thought it important to supplement them with further terms deemed indispensable for a more general treatment of the topics. Most of the additions have come from consulting "DATA COMMUNICATION ACRONYMS AND STANDARD" published by "Retix - 2401 Colorado Avenue, Santa Monica, California 90404-3563 USA" and the by now classic work "
