Extractions: ELIAS GOLDENSKY COLLECTIONS Elias Goldensky (1867-1943) was a prominent portrait photographer in Philadelphia. During the course of research for "Elias Goldensky: Wizard of Photography," published in Pennsylvania History (Spring 1997), I compiled a list of sources for Goldensky archival materials and photographs, to which additions are made as they are found. If the reader can add to the list, I would appreciate receiving the information. Above is a rare color portrait by Goldensky made in 1916. The original is in the George Eastman House. Reprints Of Legal Classics 91. Fisher, Sydney George. Fisher 18561927 was a prominent historian and lawyer, who was admitted to the Pennsylvania bar in 1883 after legal studies at http://www.lawbookexchange.com/reprints02/books/Emery.html
Extractions: * This volume reprints the Storrs lectures delivered by Emery [1840-1920] at Yale University in 1914. Emery's profound knowledge of constitutional law and keen interest in philosophy and history are clearly evident here. Beginning with conceptions of justice in Antiquity and in the Judeo-Christian tradition, Emery develops a general theory of rights, and uses it as a basis for his definition of justice. His other lectures deal with the securing of justice. Influenced perhaps by the outbreak of hostilities in Europe, Emery asserts that the United States has created the finest system yet for its preservation. "It is most emphatically a book which, once read, is kept on hand for a re-reading." H.W.C. Yale L.J. 24: 263 cited in Marke, A Catalogue of the Law Collection at New York University Dictionary of American Biography 82. Esmein, A[dhemar].

This book originated from the need of introducing a course on Constitutional Law in the school... The text was developed as a basis for lectures... His discussion attained immediate fame and his views and suggestions practically dominated American Constitutional Law... Like Blackstone, Pomeroy and many other legal works, the influence of Constitutional Limitations rests partly upon literary qualities, upon clarity and grace of unaffected statement. Rogers, James G.
