SURNAMES DATE QUERY CONTACT ... WATSON / SHINN I am looking for death and burial information for my great grandfather, Robert Preston WATSON. he was living alone in Jewell County, Kansas on the 1920 US Census. I know that at one time he owned 1/4 section of land in Jewell County which was in my grandmother's name, Ethel WATSON, or Anna Ethel WATSON. I have not been able to find him. I am also looking for Carroll Amer SHINN, brother-in-law to Robert Preston WATSON. I know that Robert WATSON was living with Carroll SHINN and his family in 1900 and, I believe, in 1910. Chenoweth Subset Of John: - William Pugh(5) 9 Ernest Blair Denton b January 15, 1897 in Davis Run, Kerens 24, 1905 d June 09,1980 Father J. Corder Ferguson Mother Dera Ralph William Lunsford 105 b http://www.chenowethsite.com/ch1jw0w.htm
Extractions: Start of: [Surname Index] [Chenoweth names] [Other surnames] [Descendant tables] WILLIAM PUGH(5) 1784-1855 William Pugh, the second son of "Revolutionary John", was born in Hampshire County, Virginia (now WV) and came as a young boy with his parents to Randolph County, where he would spend the rest of his life, dying there at age 71. Just shy of 23, William married Lydia Kittle, daughter of Jacob Kittle and Mary A. Henderson, forming the first of many alliances between the Kittles and the Chenoweths. They would have 11 children, ten of whom would mature, and marry in Randolph County. The descendants of William Pugh are so well recorded that they form the 2nd largest known grouping of lines in the Chenoweth family from the fifth generation, surpassed only by his older brother Robert. In Chenoweth genealogy terms, William was misplaced by Cora Hiatt when she listed him as the head of the family of what is now William S., son of William(2). What a large and prolific family this was that Cora Hiatt overlooked. The Harris book corrects this error. In the 1850 Census this family is found in the 52nd district of Randolph County, where eleven Chenoweth households are found all clustered together, including the four brothers: William Pugh, John, Jehu and Gabriel and some of their children. William's will, dated Dec 15, 1853, mentions all his children who grew to maturity. William and Lydia are buried in the Arnold Hill cemetery, south of Elkins, Randolph Co., WV.
