Extractions: 8152 Imperial Road (Highway 73 south of Aylmer) This cemetery also includes stones C019 - C022 which were originally located at the old St. James Anglican Cemetery or Old English Cemetery as it was called on the 9th Concession of Malahide Revised and formatted for the Internet 20 November 2002 by Bruce C. Johnson Jr. The first burial in Aylmer Cemetery was that of Donald McLachlan who died in September of 1837 at the age of 43 years. The next 2 burials were the Daughters of Daniel and Elizabeth Davis, - Emmeline and Eleanor who died on December 13, 1838. There were 4 burials in 1849, 18 burials in 1875,26 burials in 1900 and in 1985 there were a total of burials for the year. The cemetery first consisted of 4 acres, another 3 acres were added later and on September 14th 1869 the sons of Aaron Vanpatter- Joel, Lewis, and George Willard deeded 4 acres of land to the cemetery. On April 25th 1899, Lewis Vanpatter and his Wife Emma Jael deeded 4 1/10 acres to the cemetery. At this time also the trustees were to maintain and build the fences on the lands of the cemetery. No barbed wire fences were to be used.
