If you have any additions or corrections, please contact Suellen Clopton Blanton, bblanton@fast.net The oldest Methodist Church west of the Oconee River, Concord is located in Putnam County (Eatonton) Georgia, on Pea Ridge Road in the eastern portion of the county. In the fall of 1810, Thomas Johnston and William B. Pritchard began building a house of worship. The little log cabin, when finished, was named Victory, but a few years later, the name was changed to Concord. At that time, it was a Methodist Episcopal Church on the Sparta Circuit. The land was donated by John Robertson. The first Trustees were Thomas Jefferson Johnston, Richard Burt, Joseph Turner, James Burt, and Josiah Flournoy. In 1825 a frame structure was built. The present church building was built in 1886 by Thomas J. Winslette. Resting on rock pillars, the floor joists are pine logs hewn flat on the top for stable flooring. The framework is of rough lumber just as it came from the sawmill. Beginning in 1987 an addition was built at the rear of the church. The pews were moved forward, the aisle, widened. Great pains were taken to match the interior and exterior architectures as closely as possible with the older section.

NEW WORLD ORDER and money. Arthur Schlesinger Jr., The CFR In March, 1915, the JP Morgan interests, the interests served. - Congressman Oscar Callaway, The Congressional http://www.enter.net/~conservative/newworld.html
Extractions: NEW WORLD ORDER The United Nations is the command center for the New World Order. As incredible as some of these quotes may sound, they are a matter of record. Readers are urged not to dismiss them out of hand, but to investigate for themselves what our government is doing to our country. "In short, the "house of world order" will have to be built from the bottom up rather from the top down... an end run around national sovereignty, eroding it piece by piece, will accomplish much more than the old-fashioned frontal assault." - Richard N. Gardner, "The Hard Road To World Order," Foreign Affairs, April, 1974. "The standard of living of the average American has to decline... I don't think you can escape that." - Paul A. Volker, Federal Reserve Chairman, October 17, 1979. "If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face forever." - George Orwell, Nineteen Eighty-Four. Extractions: The two basic classifications of sources from which to obtain genealogical information are Primary and Secondary. Primary sources consist of authentic, original records such as land deeds, birth and death certificates, wills, marriage certificates, or photocopies of original documents and official government records. Secondary sources consist of family oral traditions, records later copied or transcribed (there may be errors) and any other information recorded sometime after the fact: the longer afterward, the less reliable. Published family histories are secondary sources and should not be taken for fact as they are often inaccurate. The most important thing in dealing with published family histories is to first look for source citations. Then try to find out something about the author. The Family History Library in Salt Lake City has a huge collection. A list of all of the holdings can be found in the Family History library catalog (surnames section) which is available on either microfiche or CD-ROM at every Family History Center.

Actually, I dont have a palm tree, but I have something much more interesting for you to learn. There was a book a friend lent me not long ago on terms and their definitions for the various periods of our history - much of the early stuff, of course, extensively borrowed or brought over from England and Europe. Unfortunately, its been misplaced and though Ive looked hi and lo Ive about given up searching. Its was of such interest I had written down some of the terms to include in the newsletter for many times we come across these words and do not exactly know in what context they were used, and would have liked to have known. So, heres a few Ive managed to get before the book slipped out from beneath my fingers. ("And they say Doug Henning's quick -Ha!) Yeoman -originally, in English history, a menial servant. In 15
