English Foundation Mares by Hutton's Royal Colt from a mare by Byerley Turk from Thoulouse Barb he sold toSir J. Parsons Platini, Princely Gift, Palace Music, George Frederick, Grey Lag http://www.oditech.com/~tbheritage/HistoricDams/FoundationMares.htm
Extractions: Foundation Mares 1. Tregonwell's Natural Barb Mare. Modern taproot branches: Abigail (1788), Bonny Lass (1723), Casuistry (1876), Connie (1874), Glengowrie (1851), Lass O'Gowrie (1871), Magnolia, The Mersey (1859), Morel (1805), Mustard (1823), Nemesis (1858), New Zealand (1891), Paradigm (1852), Pawn (1803), Penelope (1798), Peppermint (1787), Problem (1823), Prudence (1811), Prunella (1788), Queen Bertha (1860), Rouge Rose (1865), Squirrel mare (1767), Web (1808). 2. Burton's Barb Mare. Craig describes her as "One of the most prolific mares in the number of her descendants now living, she was also alive in the days of the Merry Monarch, when she was located at the Hampton Court Stud." Robertson says that she "was at Hampton Court in the reign of Charles II. There she bred a filly by Dodsworth (son of the King's Mare from Tangiers), a filly by Dicky Pierson (son of Dodsworth), and a running horse, St. Martin, by Spanker (bred at Helmsley by the second Duke of Buckingham, and one of the best runners at Newmarket)." McLean says she was imported and "her dam is believed to be pure Koklana , one of the best of the Arabian strains. It is possible that this mare may be related to the foundation mares of Families No. 3, 17, and 22, as indicated by Lady Wentworth, but this is difficult to prove. Burton's Natural Barb mare produced two important daughters, an unnamed mare by Dicky Pierson (son of Dodsworth) and an unnamed mare by Dodsworth."

Breeding Bird Atlas - Florida Division Of Wildlife Marjorie West, Burney White, Carolyn J. Wiegner, Eugene Duncan Stuart Evered, PeterFrederick, Charles L Burroughs, Jackie Butcher, Gary Byerley, Charles and http://www.wildflorida.org/bba/acknowledgments.asp
Extractions: Acknowledgments The Florida Breeding Bird Atlas (BBA) project could not have been accomplished without the support of numerous organizations and individuals and the field efforts of hundreds of volunteers. We are most grateful to all for their contributions. We are grateful to the staff of the Florida Audubon Society (FAS) [ Editor's note: now Audubon of Florida] for their assistance and patience over the years, especially Bernie Yokel, Michael Nelson, Trude Valente, Terrie Diesbourg, and Stephanie Johnson. We thank the staff of the Archbold Biological Station, in particular John Fitzpatrick and Hilary Swain, former and current Executive Directors, respectively. The assistance and understanding of the Florida Game and Fresh Water Fish Commission's [ Editors note : now the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission] Nongame Wildlife Section, especially Brian Millsap, David Cook, Doug Runde, Brad Gruver, Susan Cerulean, James Cox, Vic Heller, and Frank Montalbano, are deeply appreciated. Chandler Robbins, Patuxent Wildlife Research Center, Janet Carroll, Atlas coordinator for New York, and Michael Peterson, a New York regional coordinator, offered helpful advice and information during the planning stage of the Florida Atlas project. The BBA project is particularly indebted to the substantive contributions of Bill Pranty and Bradley M. Stith. Bill Pranty was the Pasco County Coordinator during 1986-1991 and a member of the Quality Control Committee during 1988-1989. He was appointed Acting State Coordinator in 1991. He entered 1991 data into the computer and conducted a complete review of the entire database, identifying and correcting errors. He worked on the production of the revised distribution maps, and finalized the list of the many hundreds of regional and county coordinators, atlasers and casual observers. Mr. Pranty, who is also the author of the 1996 edition of
