Product Description
If you're like many volleyball officials just starting out, you've played the sport in the past, you love the competition, and you're looking for a way to stay involved. But you know there's more to officiating than just knowing the rules. Officiating Volleyball offers up-and-coming and seasoned officials comprehensive guidelines for officiating matches with confidence.

Based on officiating mechanics endorsed by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS), Officiating Volleyball is the definitive guide for high school officials. You'll learn what's expected of you as an official, including your match responsibilities, procedures to follow, mechanics to use during the match, how to enforce infractions, and how to apply the rules in situations such as substitutions, player alignment, and the new libero position.

Officiating Volleyball is not a rules book--it's a practical resource for implementing correct mechanics as developed and approved by the NFHS. Officiating mechanics are supported by nearly 100 photos and illustrations of positioning and signaling. Real-life cases demonstrate correct rulings, point out common officiating errors and how to avoid them, and challenge you to make the right call. A glossary of key volleyball terms is also included. It's a resource sure to have a place in every official's sport bag.

Officiating Volleyball was written by the American Sport Education Program (ASEP) in cooperation with the NFHS. It serves as the text for the NFHS Officiating Volleyball Methods online course, offered through the NFHS Officials Education Program. ... Read more
