Index parent letter for all driver education students. year at CVU but has been a Drivereducation instructor for a license tester for the State of vermont and works http://departments.cvuhs.org/scott/deweb\index.htm
Extractions: Parent/guardian expectations With the new graduated licensing law each student will have to document 40 hours of driving time (10 hours of night driving) with a licensed driver that is at least 25 years old before they can take their driving test. We believe that it is extremely important that all of our students receive at least 2 - 3 hours of practice each week at home. Each student needs time to practice the skills that we have been working on in the classroom and in the driver ed car. If the student does not receive practice outside of the driver education course it will be very difficult for them to be successful. We have included some resources to help parents/guardians out while driving with their children. These resources will help you to practice the specific skills that your son/daughter is being required to do in the driver ed car. Parent letter for all driver education students

VERMONT IN THE NEWS CHILD ADVOCACY FILING A COMPLAINT 504 ACCOMMODATION S AND ADHD VERMONT EDUCATION REPORTS We provide support for parents of children experiencing significant trouble in the journey of growing up. These children often experience rejection from their siblings and peers and have great difficulty in social and educational settings. They fail to pick up the social 'cues' that most of us see easily. They may be quick to rise to anger, perpetually frustrated, irritable, moody, defiant, oppositional, in trouble with the law and have an emotional, behavioral, cognitive or physical disability. They are also sensitive, bright, compassionate and musically, athletically or artistically gifted. These children are at their worst when overpowered and at their best when empowered. They come from all walks of life and different backgrounds but they share one thing in common they are 'different' from their peers and 'at risk'. For every 'different' child, there is a story waiting to be heard and a family waiting to be accepted into our community. Parents of these children are often isolated from family and friends as a result of their child's behavior. Parents feel judged by others as 'bad parents' who should have applied more discipline. Many view these parents as the cause of their child's inappropriate behavior. Even some professionals believe if you 'fix' the parent, you will 'fix' the child and the disability will magically disappear. Isolated from the world of other parents and exhausted from the effort of parenting a child with challenging behaviors, many parents feel overwhelmed. Living each day with real and painful desperation, these parents do not know where to turn for help. We've created this site to guide Vermont parents to Internet resources for themselves and their children. We will help you find a friend to walk with and a supportive place to walk to. The joy is in our journey.
