1-0 out of 5 stars Kindle edition more than hardcover
At the time of this review, the kindle edition of this book is $ 2.11 more than the hardcover is going for on Amazon.

1-0 out of 5 stars Fantasy Food for Fantasy Children
This author lives in alternative universe where 1) parents have the time to prepare nearly all of the items in it like "spinach omelet with potatoes, zucchini, and tomato" and 2) children are willing to eat stuff like "orzo salad."Maybe if you don't have a job this might work. And maybe if your child is is an adult it might work too. It's a huge waste of time buying this book.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great purchase.
There are so many great interesting ideas. Perhaps not all are great for children but we also use the ideas for our lunches as well. Some are very easy while others are a bit more involved. I need to get back to this book so that wehave more interesting lunches instead of doing the mundane cold cuts.

3-0 out of 5 stars Chicken, Mayo and Tortillas
I was really excited to get this book based on the reviews I read about it.I like the size of the book and the fact that it is hardbound. There are pictures for some of the recipes, but not all.I would like to see more pictures for every recipe. The intro to the book is really good because it talks about what kinds of foods should be in a lunch and how to pack the lunch to maintain food safety etc. There is a lot of useful information there.Plus, there are little tips throughout the book. The reason why I gave it 3 stars is because it does have a lot of recipes with chicken, mayo and tortillas. It would have been nice to see more variety. Like the title of the book, not all of these recipes are for a lunch box.In addition to chicken there is a lot of tuna.Once I swap out the tuna for chicken, this will be a chicken cookbook. This book is not what I thought it would be, but maybe once I start making some of the recipes I will like it better?I will most likely keep the book.

4-0 out of 5 stars Worth the money
I figured if I got one more thing to pack in my picky 7 year old's lunch box, this would be worth it. We achieved that goal and he is interested in trying a few other things.Good pictures.Worth it. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Learning lessons in a fun way
I read this book with my granddaughter who is eight and it was a nice bonding experience and an opportunity to talk about some of the issues brought out in the book; things like being jealous, teasing and being a good friend.

Just Grace (one of three Grace's in her class) is a typical eight year old girl. She is bright, funny and curious. When the class is given a project to learn about different foods of the world Grace decides to study unusual potato chips. Through this project the children begin to learn about different cultures.

This was a great way to discuss several things that probably happen on a day to day basis and it teaches without preaching. I think the book is probably one that would be appreciated more by girls, mostly because they would identify a lot with Grace. I also loved Grace's 'zine' drawings throughout the book, they added a fun and whimsical touch to the book. It is written in a diary format, similar to the Wimpy Kids books so it is easy to read and is also a good read aloud book. My granddaughter loved it and now wants all the Just Grace books.

5-0 out of 5 stars Funny story about fancy potato chips! :)
This book is about a girl named Grace. She does a report on potato chips around the world. She starts getting interesting in making "zines", which are like comics to illustrate her findings. The book is illustrated with examples of these zines throughout. The book is funny, and an easy read. I think it would be recommended for advanced 1st grade readers through 4th grade. Very entertaining and well done. My daughter (she was 8 when she read it) loved it and recommends it highly!

5-0 out of 5 stars Entertaining and quick read, perfect for young girls
This book was a little random in its chapter divisions, but over it was an entertaining story about Grace, a little girl who loves potato chips. She is so interested in them, she decides to do her school report on them.

The book also delves into the subject area of best friends and jealousy and has some little lessons in it about trying to think about other people's feelings. The lessons are very subtle, and I liked that they didn't try to hit you over the head with them.

This book contains little comedic drawings throughout, which represent some of the scenes of the book.It also explained how to make a "zine," which is a little story book made from a single, folded sheet of paper.

My 10 year old daughter read and enjoyed this book, particularly the part about how to make the zine as she is always into drawing and craft things in general.

All in all, this is a very kid-appropriate book, is a short but entertaining read and I would recommend this book to others.

3-0 out of 5 stars much better than I expected
I was surprised when the first few chapters of this book talked about the difference between unexceptionable behavior and good behavior. The story actually is very good and written so that my little 3 year old can understand the message. I just wish it was illustrated to help hold his interest a little better.

5-0 out of 5 stars Blending lists, dialogue, and black and white cartoon type drawings
Grades 3-5 will appreciate Just Grace and the Snack Attack, a fun book of lists from Grace that tells everything from assessments of ethnic food desirability to 'what I know about potato chips now'. In blending lists, dialogue, and black and white cartoon type drawings, a fine diary-like format evolves involving kids in Grace's life and ideas. ... Read more

Product Description
In the third book in Andrea Camilleri's Inspector Montalbano series, the urbane and perceptive Sicilian detective exposes a viper's nest of government corruption and international intrigue in a compelling new case. When an elderly man is stabbed to death in an elevator and a crewman on an Italian fishing trawler is machine-gunned by a Tunisian patrol boat off Sicily's coast, only Montalbano suspects the link between the two incidents. His investigation leads to the beautiful Karima, an impoverished housecleaner and sometime prostitute, whose young son steals other schoolchildren's midmorning snacks. But Karima disappears, and the young snack thief's life-as well as Montalbano's-is on the line . . . ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A Simple Complicated Mystery To Chew On
Like any well told mystery THE SNACK THIEF takes awhile to unfold showing us more than what we thought was initially there in grand style. Inspector Montalbano is a cranky Sicilian policeman who, with his Sherlock-like and food loving mind,is called in to investigate a simple murder in the ficticious town of Vigata.
And like his two previous Inspector Montalbano novels Andrea Camilleri serves up more than a simple murder with interesting plot twists and turns, political chicanery, a local police force you come to know and enjoy, and hey, even relationship problems that show us our hero is only human after all.
Andrea Camilleri is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors and reading over some of the reviews here it's easy to see that he's appreciated by many others as well.
Just bought the next novel in line and I'm grinning.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Snack Thief (Inspector Montalbano Mysteries)
Via Amazon - Excellent service, prompt delivery, excellent condition
as described, packaged well.
Would use again.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Fascinating Writer
This is my very first Inspector Montalbano book and I am already hooked
which means by the way that now I am going to have to find every other
book by this very fascinating writer, Andrea Camilleri. A man is stabbed to
death in an elevator in an apartment building and all kinds of problems
evolve from this one death semingly with no connection but the author ties
them up perfectly. In the back of the book is a wealth of information
explaining certain Italian phrases and actually Italian foods. It is very
helpful. Inspector Montalbano is similar in some ways to Donna Leon's
Commissario Brunetti. Brunetti has a delightful family and Montalbano
has a delightfull girl friend whom I think he is planning on marrying.
By the way both books make your mouth water. The food sounds delectable.

5-0 out of 5 stars "Sweet thief, whence didst thou steal thy sweet that smells
If not from my love's breath?"William Shakespeare, Sonnet 99

Andrea Camilleri's Inspector Montalbano series just keeps getting better and better. It seems, in retrospect, that the first two volumes released in English, The Shape of Water and The Terra Cotta Dog went a long way toward fleshing out the character of Inspector Montalbano, his colleagues on the Vigata, Sicily police force, his significant other Livia, and his delight in a plate of good food.In "The Snack Thief:" we see these characters now fully-drawn and the reader can now almost sense how Montalbano will react to any given situation. This is not to suggest the story lines or the characters are predictable but, rather, to suggest that anyone who dips their toes into these books will find themselves enmeshed in the characters to a degree seen in other well-written series of this sort.

As in The Terra Cotta Dog, Montalbano is faced with two parallel story lines.A Tunisian fisherman working on a Sicilian trawler is shot during an encounter with a Tunisian naval patrol vessel. At the same time an older man is found murdered in the elevator of his apartment. The fishing incident does not appear to be much out of the ordinary and Montalbano readily agrees to let the local harbor police do the leg-work.He is intrigued by the elevator murder, all the more so as his investigation reveals that the old man was involved in some sort of affair with a young Tunisian cleaning woman who regularly cleaned the man's office. The woman flees Vigata, leaving her young son, the snack thief of the title, behind. As the story lines progress there is some indication that there is much more to each case than meets the eye and, in fact, there may be some connection between the two murders.

Although this story is particularly plot-driven, perhaps more so than his earlier stories, The Snack Thief is most enjoyable for the portrayal of the many characters and the local flavor of the (fictional) town of Vigata.Montalbano grows on you, as does Livia. The ending of the book was particularly noteworthy in this regard.

Although the story is self-contained I recommend that the prospective reader begin with the earlier books in the series.I think that would enhance the reader's enjoyment of this book.I do not often recommend an entire series but I've now read three and I've enjoyed each one.L. Fleisig.

5-0 out of 5 stars Terrific detective stories
These are all really great reads. Kudos to the translator too. Once you pick up the book you just can't put it down. A bit rougher language at times than you'd find in an Agatha Christie novel. Would also recommend the dvd series Il Commissario Montalbano volume 1. Italian with english subtitles. Got hooked on the series on MHZ worldwide networks ( where I got the dvds). The actor who plays Montalbano inthis series is terrific too. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Cute book
Cute book for kids, makes my daughter want to eat fruit every time we read it! :)

5-0 out of 5 stars "Blue Wanted Her Snack to be Really Special"
Her teacher, Miss Marigold, has assigned everyone in the class to bring a snack for "Healthy Snacks Day." There are no special qualifications, other than that it it has to be healthy. Blue's friends all seem to know exactly what to bring, but Blue isn't so sure.

Blue thinks about the problem and gets help from Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper. Together, they work together to create a wonderful healthy snack. Blue also learns a little something about trying new foods.

This is book #22 in the "Blue's Clues" series. It features an illustrated version of Joe, unlike some of the books which contain photographs of Donovan Patton as him. This book is pretty fun. You get to see Joe and Blue in chef's hats and it teaches a number of things related to healthy eating and cooking, as well as problem-solving. ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars love it
I enjoyed my purchase, it was easy great product and arrived early. The seller discribed it well in the write up so I knew exactly what I was geting and was happy on the transaction.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money
There's not one thing in this book that I would like. Most are not quick fix foods. I gave the book away.

5-0 out of 5 stars Yummy & Low-Cal....
The 100-Calorie Snack Cookbook by Sally Sampson is a wonderfully creative cookbook filled with delicious, low-calorie snacks.A valuable resource for those trying to watch their calorie intake, 100-Calorie Snack Cookbook has some scrumptious and filling options for low-cal fare.A few of my favorites: Congee (exploded rice soup), Pomegranate Sangria, Banana Cocoa Malted (beverage), and Portobello Mushroom with mozzarella and tomato. These, of course, are just a few of the delicious recipes you'll find inside Sampson's 100-Calorie Snack Cookbook. Along with each recipe, you'll find a brief paragraph outlining the author's take on the snack - sometimes witty, sometimes informative, but always written in a personal, friendly style.Handy nutritional facts are listed for each recipe, too.Colorful photos appear for nearly every single recipe, giving the book a visual appeal that will haveyour mouth watering.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone trying to stick to their diet. The tasty 100-calorie snacks it contains are well worth looking into - particularly if, like me,you are tired of the same boring low-cal snacks you're eating now. Fresh and original, you won't be disappointed with the 100-Calorie Snack Cookbook.

4-0 out of 5 stars Good Snack Book
I just received my book a few days ago, and I am pleasantly pleased at the recipes. Granted there area few recipes that are not to my liking or may appear "fancy", (But I can't think of any recipe book where I like all the entries) but in general this book has many recipes that I am very interested in trying, and soon. I was afraid there were going to be to many weird or unusual recipes.

Do these sound to unusual and weird?
Minestrone
Egg Sandwich
Spiced Popcorn
Hot and spicy nuts
Pasta Chips
Cajun Chex Mix
Peanut butter & "Jelly"
Popcorn with Basil and Parmesan
Honey Peanut Butter bites
Cheese Tortilla
Parmesan Flats
Pita with Yogurt and cukes
Apple Chips
Chocolate Match Sticks
Mini Cranberry muffins
Ice burg Quarters w/ BleuCheese
Shrimp with spiced salt
Canadian Bacon w/ Brn sugar and mustard
Smoked Ham Pita
Grilled Pineapple
Peaches and "cream"
Berry Fro-Yo
Rice crispy treats
Chocolate cereal bites
PB&J Rice treats
Chocolate Truffles
And more....

To think I almost didn't buy this book because of the negative reviews! As long as your not expecting small portions of flat out junk food, or kiddy type food, you should enjoy this book fine.

3-0 out of 5 stars Not for kids!
I got this book to try to think of clever snacks for my overweight 4 yr old. It was not at all what I was expecting. There was hardly anything in the whole book she would touch. There wasn't much I would eat in it either. All the snacks were really "fancy". Things that most people would not take the time or money to go out and purchase. Most didn't sound all that yummy either. Try looking at it in the local bookstore before buying, so you don't have to return it like I did. ... Read more

I was hoping for a more imaginative book....more helpful in getting my picky vegetartian child to eat more and different foods. Many of the recipes my own 3 yr. old could have come up with herself!
Oh well.....another to add to the collection!

5-0 out of 5 stars great book
This is one of the best cookbook for children I've ever bought. I bought it for my precocious 6 year old. We love it. There are pictures to go with every recipe. The recipes are clear and easy to read (even by a 6 year old). The recipes are delicious and fun. Many vegetarian recipes, too.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great start for reading!
My oldest who is 6 isstruggling with reading. At first, he still struggled but we have it for awhile so we'll keep practicing it.

I liked it cause it kept repeating things so maybe he'd gain some confidence. Repetition seems to be a good key to learning how to read. I read it myself and found it very simple.

After a little frustration, he even started to giggle. I definitely amglad I picked this one up for him.

4-0 out of 5 stars Recommended for beginning readers who love dogs
I've used different sets of books in helping my now 5-year-old daughter learn to read. This series "Puppy Mudge" was one of the early books that we used back when she was four and which we still use for practice. The books in this Ready-To-Read series are categorized into 4 levels:
Pre-Level 1 - Recognizing Words
Level 1 - Starting to Read
Level 2 - Reading Independently
Level 3 - Reading Proficiently

At 5, my daughter is currently at Level 1. In these pre-level 1 books, children who are starting to show an interest in reading will find the story of Puppy Mudge (and a rather large puppy he is too!) interesting and engaging, though perhaps not as adorable as Biscuit (created by Alyssa Satin Capucilli). Mudge gets into all sorts of scrapes and the stories rely on certain key words being repeated throughout the story. Here the words are "snack" and "cute". These books are suited for children ages 4-6. I would also recommend the Biscuit books, i.e. Biscuit's New Trick (My First I Can Read),Biscuit Wants to Play (My First I Can Read), Bathtime for Biscuit (My First I Can Read).

5-0 out of 5 stars Couldn't wait to get it, can't wait to try it
I wanted this book after purchasing and using "1001 muffins" by the same author for the last few years. It just happens to be my alltime favorite cookbook.I just received "1001 snacks" today and spent a hour drooling over the goodies in this gem of a book.I can't imagine why anyone would write such an awful review for a book they didn't even purchase.Don't believe a word of it!He uses white bread in some of the recipies in order to be able to roll it flat. And if you don't like white bread, use whole wheat.I have no problem substituting at will. So what if some of the recipies are simple. That's what I'm looking for! If you're going to be a critic, at least be fair.Don't pick out a few simple or unusual recipies and set them up as examples of what this book is about! It's not! It's variety! Simple, exotic, tasty and unusual ingredients is most certainly what this book is about.Try it, you'll like it.

3-0 out of 5 stars Good but not great
I have been searching for a cookbook similar to this for some time. While many cookbooks offer a section on appetizers, or "snacks" as it were, they're generally limited to a small percentage of the book or too "foo foo" for my tastes. While there are quite a number of recipes in this book that don't whet my appetite or that I find downright gross, there are also a fair number that are interesting and/or inspirational. They also really run the gamut from rather effortless preparation to "do I really like these people enough to expend all this energy?" Rather than serving the same old, same old, it's nice to have a cookbook to look at for something a little different.

3-0 out of 5 stars Inspirational and full of ideas
I agree with another reviewer that the recipes could use suggestions for alternative ingredients and yet the book is still inspirational.

I realize that a lot of the recipes are obvious and practical. The book includes some recipes that are very exotic in their origins. It inspires me to make the things that I've been thinking of making and yet when I finally have the time, it isn't obvious to me what I wanted to make, so I'll flip through this book and I'm reminded of some things I want to try.

2-0 out of 5 stars Snack on this
Well, I'm not sure what the tastes of previous reviewers are, but they certainly are not aligned with mine.Thank goodness I checked this out from the library instead of immediately ordering it.I was appalled to discover how absolutely disgusting many of the recipes sound. To give you an idea: "anchovy balls," "cooked tongue canapes," and "mayonaise popovers" (the poor Brits would be dying a thousand deaths over what has happened to their beloved Yorkshire puddings in this recipe).Fancy a recipe for chicken skin?Because it's in here!

Many recipes favor 70s recipe stars like white bread (read: Wonder Bread), "American processed cheese," cream cheese balls and the equivalent of Vienna sausages. My stomach trembles. And then there are the Duh, Obvious "snacks" like toast (!!) or my personal favorite, a "recipe" for a hot dog and a piece of wonder bread wrapped around it.There clearly must have been a struggle to reach the 1001 total.I also had a good laugh about how often the word "Oriental" is used in a recipe's title -- dude, please, escape 1971 and enter our new century.

4-0 out of 5 stars Buy it
I stumbled onto this little goldmine in a used bookstore in Enid, Oklahoma of all places.I picked it up to pass an hour that I had before an appointment and have since crawled through the entire book numerous times. I've made almost half of the recipes as is evident by the ingredients ground into the pages themselves. . .

Having lived in 12 countries and half a dozen states in this one, I have found that I love food. All food.Food from everywhere. All of it.This book has recipes from all over the country and the world and most are as I remembered them! All are tasty, even if some are on the "Why would I spend that much time on a snack" side.

The chapters are laid out with easy to follow instructions and photos for every recipe!Recipe books without pics are a real pet peve of mine.Granted, I only have 40 some-odd recipe books, but I have found, invariably, that those that have the food represented in a visual manner are those that I go back to more often.Food is as much a visual experience as it is one of scent or taste.

There isn't much by way of history, but then again you're already getting more than what the title promises!

Why not 5 stars? It's a good cook book. It's not a GREAT cookbook. The author doesn't make suggestions as to alternate ingredients and many of the ingredients used would have to be purchased specifically for the preparation of the snack. This small problem aside, this book is well worth having. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Not really for diabetics
I received this book as a gift and I have been rather disappointed by it. I have struggles with hypoglycemia, which I have been treating like diabetes as far as my diet is concerned so I do not develop diabetes.

The recipes in this book are, in general, so-so, though there are some good ones if you are the type of person who likes convenience. A number of recipes use only a collection of a few store-bought ingredients.

The author makes no mention whatsoever of the glycemic index and types of carbohydrates to consume, instead stating that it "doesn't matter" where the carbs come from, only the amount. This is contrary to the most recent research I have read. The recipes use quite a bit of sugar (IMHO), with no consideration of lower-glycemic alternatives such as agave nectar.

I also did not like the number of fried dishes.

Out of the whole book, there are some I can use, but it was not the type of cookbook I expected.

4-0 out of 5 stars Bought this by mistake
I was searching books for dog treats...and wanted diabetic treats for diabetic dogs.Somehow this book showed up in my search and without giving it a good look over, I ordered it.It is a recipe book for people. After looking it over, I found that it had tons of great looking recipes in it.I can't tell you how good they are, because my girlfriend who is diabetic stole it from me.I'm assuming it was good though, because she never gave it back!

2-0 out of 5 stars So, So CookBook.
I was some what unhappy with this cook book. A lot of the recipes just did not appeal to me. I though they sounded dull and tasteless....but have not tried that many, so it's a judge for your self kind of thing....you may enjoy.

4-0 out of 5 stars Diabetes Snacks and more
If you already know how to cook you may not be interested in this book.If you are newly diagnosed w/diabetes or have a diabetic child this is a good "first" cookbook that is easy to follow and has a good variety of recipes for beginning cooks and children that are interested in preparing food.

5-0 out of 5 stars Keeping it Real
I love this book because it's DOABLE.For years we've been dealing with completely unrealistic diets that cause distress, disappointment and even self hatred and low self esteem. This is real, simple, useable advice that makes it easy to get healthy and loose weight. Thanks Keri Glassman.Looking forward to the O2 Diet!

3-0 out of 5 stars Snack factor makes munching a must!
I really wanted to love Keri Glassman's, "The Snack Factor Diet". Glassman writes in an easy to follow style and the book is packed with information. And who wouldn't love to snack several times a day. However, there were many things I don't like about plan.

Glassman is a good writer and she is very easy to understand. She shares a lot of good nutritional information in this 244 page book. But I felt her overall plan would be hard to follow. The plan begins with a 3 day cleanse. This includes dandelions, cucumbers, all you can eat celery stalks, lean meat and lemon water. Did someone say STRICT DIET! To be fair however, the cleanse is optional and designed to blast away your cravings etc.

The "real" diet is better but restrictive. Though she blasts low carb diets in her book. Her book is pretty low carb. She calls potatos, rice, cereal, pasta etc. starches and you are limited to one or two a day at breakfast depending on your weight!

A typical day on the plan might include milk, fiber cereal, and walnuts for breakfast, shrimp salad with avocado and dressing for lunch, chicken breast with veggies and a little fat for dinner. And two snacks.

The book focuses on eating snacks each day and though Glassman lists a lot of snacks, I personally felt the snacks were not necessarily optimal choices. For on the go snacking she recommends for example cottage cheese and yogurt. These items need to be refridgerated so how on the go is this?

Many of her snack choices seem unbalanced. Two or three slices of bacon or two turkey meatballs. I really think that selecting a protein and a carb for each snack is what will keep one full and content to the next meal. Some of her choices were strictly protein or carb and fat etc.

Glassman also wants you to keep a food journal and discusses the importance of exercise and managing stress. She advises drinking lemon water instead of using fake sweeteners and she gives extensive nutrition information and simple recipes. She does not give nutrition information on her menus. Glassman does a great job of explaining her plan and you can elect to plan your own meals around the information she gives or follow set menus.

Overall I think it's a restrictive plan but if you don't mind only one starch a day, you may want to give it a munch.

5-0 out of 5 stars Common Sense Approach
I saw the author on TV and I was impressed with what she was saying as it relates to dieting.I was more impressed with her book.I have been on her plan for about a month and I see results without sacrificing too much.I have reduced my portions and I am convinced that's all anyone has to do to loose weight and maintain.I am now comfortable with smaller portions and I still eat what I normally like with just a few rules.Glassman is a nutritionist and I feel she is passionate about nutrition and that makes a big difference when you read her book. She has you use a scale of of 1-10 to touch basis with how you are feeling once you eat -- something I never did.I usally ate until it hurts and then I felt really bad.Slow down, read the book and learn some great principles to live by.

5-0 out of 5 stars Easiest diet ever!
This book is great! I've reached my goal weight and keeping it off has not been hard. This book taught me to change my outlook on food and to listen to my body. It even introduced me to new foods with all the different recipes provided. There are so many great ideas on meals and snacks, that I planned out my weeks of meals so that I'd have a perfect variety and never get bored. This book was so easy to read and I learned lessons I know I'll use for the rest of my life.

This book is full of important information necessary in maintaining a healthy way of living.

5-0 out of 5 stars Very Helpful for Families!
I bought this book recently and love it! As the mother of three kids, I find that the recipes are just right--it's not crazy low-fat which wouldn't be good for the kids, but it's healthy enough for me and my husband who want to lose a little poundage. And, dare I say it aloud, but since we've been cooking from it I think I even dropped a pound or two, and I haven't felt hungry!

Finally a healthy cookbook with recipes that actually taste good! I am sick of bland cardboard muffins and cookies. This cookbook uses whole grains and tons of veggies and fruits to create flavorful foods that everyone can enjoy. My top pick (so far) is the Cabbage and Chicken Salad with Peanut Dressing. WOW! Full of flavor!

5-0 out of 5 stars Delicious!

ENJOY!

1-0 out of 5 stars Very misleading
I was shocked when I started going through this book. Some of the recipes don't even have a full 1 gram of fiber, and the fat content on a lot of them is insanely high. Plus, some of the 300 recipes include how to boil vegetables. Uh, thanks. How this publisher put this book into the market in good conscience is beyond me. 5-0 out of 5 stars This author's books are very witty and fun for all ages.
If you are a foodie and want to share your love of food with you little one these books are perfect. The art is a mix of paper cutouts and found objects and the rhyming story is very cute. You'll be repeating things like "Hola Jalapeno" to your little one with glee! I just wish this author would put out more of this series of books.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of my boys' favorites
My Mother-in-Law bought this book when our first was just 1. My 2 oldest love this book, and I am certain my 7 month old will love it too. We also have the Sushi book, which is another favorite.

2-0 out of 5 stars Nice idea, but,
The series is a great idea and the illustrations are unique. But at least with this volume, I wish it was more consistent with all the Chinese names for the foods instead of English for some and Chinese for others, and wierd Romanization of the Chinese names. It makes me wonder how accurate the other volumes are.

5-0 out of 5 stars can i give it 7 stars? THIS IS OUR FAVE SERIES!
i can't write in all caps, but this series of baby books from amy wilson sanger are our absolute favorite. i have all 7, and give them as gifts to lucky friends. so funny, so cute, so creative and a great way to learn about world foods, really. my older daughter likes to read the dessert sections to our baby and we have even experimented with some of the foods.
