1-0 out of 5 stars Negative and down right scary funny
This was the first dream book that I ever purchased. I was 10 years old at the time so you could understand my lack of better judgement. I'm currently looking for some new dream books and decided to look up the reviews on this old book as I'm about to toss it or donate it. I was always put down by the interpretations in this book. It made me not want to dream because everything I dreamt was bad and meant harm was coming my way. So I'm reviewing this book incase someone who is new to dream interpretation doesn't make the mistake of buying this one and being turned off by all its negativity. If your well educated on the subject and are just curious about this book then go ahead. Just don't take it too seriously.
Our dreams are meant to communicate and inspire and teach us. This book doesn't support that.

1-0 out of 5 stars Go Back to Sleep, Gustavus
I found the book initially entertaining as bathroom reading, for the pure nonsense value and a glimpse into our dark past. Some examples:
Banana- To dream of bananas, foretells that you will be mated to an uninteresting and an unloved companion.
Baste- To dream of basting meats while cooking, denotes you will undermine your own expectations by folly and selfishness.
However, after around a dozen entries, they all blur together as portending either great fortune or great sorrow, with separate interpretations for women, all centering around love or how orderly their kitchen will be.After more entries, the ugly side of our dark past surfaces, with entries about Negroes, Mulattos, Jews, etc.

This book was written in a time (1909) when racist sentiment was the norm, as another reviewer points out.Use of the word "Negro" is one thing, now politically "incorrect", however interpreting dreams about "Negroes with their banjoes" as signifying "unavoidable discord...worries with hirelings...sickness" etc. is beyond PC, it's racism.Similarly, dreaming of Jews "signifies untiring ambition and an irrepressible longing after wealth and high position, which will be realized to a very small extent" and so on... In short, the book is interesting from a historical perspective, like minstrel shows, but needs to be viewed in context, and is of no other value in today's world.Sadly, this book has been latched on to by all manner of well meaning new age crackpots looking for easy answers to life's hard questions.

1-0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your time or money
I got this book as a gift and still think it was a waste of money.Every dream I have looked up so far was negative, most dealing w/ some future pending event, ie if you dream 'X' you are soon to lose your job or some other misfortune. How a dream relates to some future event in the physical world I'll never know.I was hoping it would deal more w/ what's going on in my subconscious, but that doesn't seem to be what this book is about.

5-0 out of 5 stars The Best and Most Accurate Dream Book I've Ever Read
Based on my experiences with this book, I cannot praise it highly enough. I've read many dream books and none of them have ever been this accurate in predicting future events based on your dreams. Almost all, most of the dreams ive had - I looked up there meanings and on most of the dreams it has a diffrent thing that will happen than the exact object or person/thing you dream of. But it always comes true IN REAL LIFE. It has been bone chilling. This book is a dream bible to me and Ive had it for about 5 yrs now and have used it till its almost fallen apart. It not only has dream meanings but the preface has the whole story of dreams over the ages and exactly how they work and affect us in the waking life. Its fascinating. Some reviewers had a problem with some racist passages or writings in here, but you have to understand the meanings in this book have been studied and some are the old meanings or they stay true to the real meaning of the dream so they use defitions from older times. And it will say somthing about a person of color once in awhile during the book.( If you have a certain dream) and those definitions are few and far between. Other than that - THIS BOOK IS REAL. Take it from me and my own experiences.- It hits the nail on the head like no other book you will ever read. Just make sure you remember most of your dreams and look up the meanings and if you have a real vivid or strange dream make sure you circle and remember the meaning of it so you can go back and look it up when the meanings happen to you in real life , whether its the next day or a couple months down the line. But i guarentee it will happen - AT least thats what happened to me. Enjoy the book. Highly Recomended

PS- I started having all these dreams and i would circle the meaning in my book so i could keep track and see if that would happen in real life and the first couple months alot of the stuff happened but there were some outlandish things like finding money that said ill never have to be worried to pay my bills again and you will be ( prosperous) and At the time i could never beleive that because my life wasnt at the best at that exact time , the stuff it said i couldnt beleive so i dismissed it ,or i kept it in the back of my mind just in case, BUT about 5-6 months later ( those dreams i circles that i said ( yea right ) to or didnt beleive CAME TRUE. So if it dosent come true right away dont dismiss the book. There is definetely a coincidence between what we dream and what happens in real life to us. They still havent figured it out but they are doing more & more research every day to try to uncover the mystery of dreams. I cant say this book has been a coincidence because to many things have been accurate and right on target. I hope you get the same pleasure out of this book I have, Enjoy.

1-0 out of 5 stars DREAMBOOK FOR THE RACIST IDIOT
It's a pity that "dictionary terminology" is use to perpetuate racist rhetoric. I find it quite the fascinating study that a few of the reviewers were actually turned on(almost orgasmic)by the idea of "purchasing" a book because it's banned (due to negative implications of another race). Perhaps "Aryan Nation" could be truly interpreted as the quintessential nightmare. But I suppose it is easier to attack another race while covering the evils of another. If you are the typical happy go lucky American RACIST,Get the book, it will suit your ignorant dream life for the typical idiot brain.

5-0 out of 5 stars A Search for the Truth by Ruth Montgomery
This is one of my favorite Ruth Montgomery books. She is an award-winning, entertaining, easy to read, and engrossing author.

This book is about her beginning path in the exploration of the metaphysical world. She visited psychics of all kinds with the intention of writing a debunking article for the newspaper she worked for back then. She was well-versed as a journalist in the political arena prior to her exploration of this field and covered the terms of four presidents.

Amazingly enough, she became a convert, and from this book forward writes about different aspects of the healing world. Every book she writes is just awesome. My other favorites are Born to Heal (the story of Bill Gray) and A World Beyond (after Bill Gray dies, she channels him through the process of automatic writing. They write a book about what happens on the other side after we die.)

If you are a non-believer, this may help you understand the other "weird" people out there. Ruth does her research and checks out every fact she can when she writes.

1-0 out of 5 stars Feh!
If this or any book sets someone on the path of enlightenment, I commend it.Personally, though, this book was almost unreadable.A play-it-safe tome of psychobabble, it is written on the level of People magazine. No wonder there are people trying to unload their used copies for $0.01!

5-0 out of 5 stars This book is a good beginning and will OPEN your mind!
I've owned this hardcover book since the late 60'sand I will NOT part with it!It whet my appetite and set me off on an incredible journey of exploration about reincarnation and I haven't stopped since.I've re-read it every decade since!I highly recommned it as a good primer! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Actually, a wonderful book---still
I recommend this book 100%.These days I'm a lot less wordy (see below), but still hold the same conviction about Cayce. I think he was the real thing, and that his readings (particularly concerning reincarnation) still hold up today. If nothing else, this is a compelling read and will hold your interest, perhaps even spark some pertinent questions.

Peace.

3-0 out of 5 stars Interesting, although very biased
This book isn't so much Edgar Cayce on reincarnation as it is Noel Langley on reincarnation, with occasional refernces to Cayce. The conviction with which Langley tries to "prove" that reincarnation is, in fact, a Christian view is kind of scary. All of his examples of the plot to bury reincarantion in the bible seem to involve "evil women" of some sort or another; quite a turn off for me.I skipped over most of that. Otherwise, it's full of pretty interesting first-hand accounts.

3-0 out of 5 stars Unobjective, sometimes scary in conviction
What disappointed me about this book was that it wasn't so much Edgr Cayce on reincarnation as it was Noel Langley on Reincarnation and occasionally Edgar Cayce. His conviction, the need of the author to "prove" everything he said made it a little uncomfortable and sometimes boring to read, too.Otehrwise, it's interesting.Lots of good first-hand accounts.

5-0 out of 5 stars Heresy or Simple Logic? This book begs the question!
Are you interested in exploring the concept of reincarnation, without feeling like some spooky little ghoul with an agenda as longas your arm is infusing your brain with the Words of Satan?Well, this book is for you.Written simply, clearly and compellingly, "Edgar Cayce on Reincarnation" motivates the reader to contemplate the question, "Irreversible death or ongoing life?" This review will not provide the answer, nor is it meant to.I'm not sure this book provides the answer, either; just food for thought. And isn't that just grand?Me, I like reading a book that doesn't shove doctrine down my throat.I like looking at things in a pragmatic, sensible fashion, and then arriving at my own conclusions. I was able to do that with this book, and will not hesitate to use it as a reference in the future."Edgar Cayce on Reincarnation" was so interesting and so thought-provoking that I have devoted myself and (some of) my time to learning more about this truly fascinating man, his offspring and the "A.R.E." I recommend it highly!

4-0 out of 5 stars EDGAR CAYCE MAY JUST BE THE ONLY TEACHER YOU'LL EVER NEED~
I greatly admire the life and work of Edgar Cayce, and this book is an excellent example of WHY: Cayce was a humble, highly evolved soul totally committed to a life of service to suffering children. He'd given freehealth readings, in a self-induced trance state, for about twelve yearsbefore reincarnation was ever mentioned (as the reason for a child'sillness). Cayce believed his psychic abilities were the gift from God he'dbeen promised by an angel as a child, and he read the entire Bible cover tocover yearly, so he was not in any way prepared to accept the idea ofreincarnation! Fortunately for us, after much prayer & soul-searchinghe reconciled the concept with his Judeo-Christian beliefs, and in theprocess taught us how to do the same. Cayce is the the perfect person toguide Christians just starting to question karma & reincarnation, aswell as for more advanced students.(His work includes a list of diseasesrelated to past-life actions which is amazing). Product Description
1871. The object of the Saint was to illustrate the goodness and forbearance of Almighty God in bringing him, in spite of his loathsome manifold errors and infirmities, to this blessed haven of rest; that so others who were in the same state in which he had been, might not sleep in despair, and say, I cannot. St. Augustine speaks of his past sins in terms of strong condemnation, yet personally, of unconcern; as shocking in themselves, but as what he had no more to do with, in that he had condemned them, and they had been washed away by Baptism. ... 2-0 out of 5 stars The Confessions of St. Augustine
Written in a way making understanding difficult. This could have been translated in a more interesting and reader friendly manner.Very disappointing.

5-0 out of 5 stars Tai's QuickViews: Three Stars
St. Augustine is obsessed with sin (and Jesus). No wonder as he is the proponent of the concept of original sin. He goes through some lengths not only to prove God's existence, which religious people are constantly prone to do as one who were to have to constantly refute the fact that he is indeed Napoleon Bonapate- Augustine also performs philosophical acrobats to avoid toppling this house of cards called belief. What a feat indeed.
Somehow, God lies outside of everything, even the rules which we know everything.
The "Saint" verbally flogs himself at every turn; even to acts done as a child when he stole fruit for stealing sake or to when he took up with a woman in Milan?
There seems to me a misfiring (as Richard Dawkins calls it) in our brains that needs authority, a craving for a personification of gravity and other laws into one surrogate father.
He talks of God as if he literally KNEW the man, being, spirit, deity, etc. When the only evidence he has of this "knowing" is what was written in a book. If one knew of God based on his own experience, that is if one were to have identical experiences of a god who had NOT read this book and was unable to reap the fodder of scripture to the malleable faults of human imagination, then and only then would I give the 'word" some credence of truth. But this is not the case. Religion is simply a collaboration of sticky, albeit harmful, ideas.

He also expressed his disdain for astrology, ack!

5-0 out of 5 stars Beautifully Read
I have never read the Confessions of St. Agustine. In fact, I found it very difficult to follow both in English and in Spanish the two times I did actually try to read the book.

Since Agustin can easily be considered one of the greatest thinkers in all of Christianity and foundational for Western civilization, I think it to be important to have some understanding of this man.

This CD version of the book made this man come alive to me.It wasn't just hearing how God dealt with an individualbringing them from darkness tothe light of the Gospel that impressed me, but that did impress me greatly. The details of everyday life from that time period I also found to be fascinating.

So, if you have wanted to read Agustin's spiritual autobiography, but have had trouble understanding it, I highly recommend this audio version. It is beautifully read.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent for Long Commuters!
I enjoyed this unabridge audio book. It's one thing to read the book, its another experience to listen to it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Great reader
Obviously, the Confessions of St. Augustine themselves need no review. However, potential buyers need to know that the reader for this particular recording is absolutely fantastic. I took the time to listen to other recordings before I decided which to buy, and this one is absolutely the best one. It is a pleasure to listen to! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars An Inspiring Read
This book is very gripping and interesting.I found it very neat to hear about the different lives of Edgar Cayce. The book is a bit scrambled in the idea that it is sometimes confusing to know who is talking and in what person.

4-0 out of 5 stars Intimates Through Time
This book is about the past lives of several of Edgar Cayce's friends and family members and neighbors who were interviewed by the author.Interesting and easy to read for those who want to know more about reincarnation, it also provides some historical insights into life during ancient Egypt and other periods of history.

1-0 out of 5 stars Intamates Through Time
This book was a terrible dissapointment. The author claimsto have been anvisor to Pharoh, Tribal Chief and beloved leaderin many of his past lives.I find his delusions of granduer in poor form.I was so disgusted with the author that I chose not to finish reading this book. The writing techinque was poor, The infromation given was scattered and hard to follow. The author must think his audience a fool who will beleive anything he writes. It is like he didn't even try to produce a quality book, just adding another title to his list. Have you ever met someone who would lie to make friends? That is the impressinn I got from Jess Stern. Don't buy this book .It is a waste of your time and money.

2-0 out of 5 stars to much preaching , not enough reference to actual readings
first i apologize for using this forum. i wish to comment on Edgar Cayce, on the millennium, by Mr Stearn . i was unable to find the proper outlet for this book.i was disapointed in the content of the book. it failed toprovide any real insight into the millennium. the ideas in this book couldbe summed up in very few words. Mr. Stearn feels that there will be nocatastrophic events to mark the millennium, just a series of unidentifiedevents, with no specifics given to back up exactly what or when any eventwill take place. this was pourly refferenced. please take the time to readand display examples of mr. Cayce's readings that pertain to this title. iexpected to have the prophets words on the subject not Mr. Stearns personalviews. the name EDGAR CAYCE should not be in the title of this book.i ownand have read many of the books extrapolated from the readings of Mr. Cayceincluding, The Sleeping Profit, and this book should not be included in theseries !

At a time when these subjects were taboo to speak about around the dinner table, it was difficult to understand where to turn for clarification, knowledge, etc. Ruth Montgomery's books helped me a great deal in finding that understanding, encouraged me to seek more knowledge, and develop my own abilities to the degree that I have now worked with assisting clients and law enforcement for the past twenty years. 5-0 out of 5 stars Soulmaking - Practical Philosophy
With Soulmaking, GROSSO at first sight seems to offer an exotic approach towards the enigma of soul, which is far from being solved to date, as he stresses repeatedly. The term "soulmaking" is not the inventionof a modern author trying to catch the reader with a smart book title. Thepoet JOHN KEATS used this term to describe the process which CARL GUSTAVJUNG, whose ideas GROSSO obviously admires a great deal, later called"Individuation". KEATS explained "soulmaking" as quotedby the author on page 31: "There may be intelligences or sparks ofdivinity in millions - but they are not Souls till they acquire identities, till each one is personally itself." According to GROSSO, both activeand passive experience is the essence of soulmaking, especially but notexclusively in the course of self-reflection, philosophy, arts andparanormal or exceptional human experiences (EHE) which can force us totake a look over the fence of our inherited materialistic world view - ashappened to the author more than once, as he tells us confidently in themany anecdotes of his private and professional life. As RAYMOND MOODY putsit in his short foreword, "This book is a good read". GROSSOsucceeded in gripping me with his witty and lively writing style and thefrankness with which his anecdotes are presented. Leaving the safe terrainof merely reproducing facts, the author has the courage to share some ofthe most intimate incidents of his life with the reader, who will feelpersonally invited to take part in the author's adventure of soulmaking. IfGROSSO can be blamed for anything, it is not for fear of the public'sreactions. Although they are not a main theme of this book, psychedelicexperiences are addressed as possibilities to learn about the creativepowers of the unconscious, which serve as a "Soul-MagnifyingGlass", as suggested by the title of the respective chapter. However, the author is well aware of the reverse side of the coin: "Althoughscholars have studied sacred plants in shamanism and ancient religions, thehistory of drugs and the soul has yet to be written. (...) The complexionof things has changed nowadays. The demonic side of drugs seems to havetaken over. The worst nightmares about drug abuse are coming true."(p. 71) The interface of psychedelic experience and the nature of ahypothetical afterlife may become clear by going back to the philologicalroots of the term itself: "In Greek it ('psychedelic') means soulclarifying. It occurs in a Platonic dialogue (...) where it is used todescribe what happens to souls at death. Death, said Socrates, clarifiesthe soul; it reveals the hidden corruption, the secret deeds of unjust menwho in life hid behind rank and prestige; it also reveals the beauties andvirtues of just souls. Death, in short, is the ultimate'psychedelic'." (p. 73) Now, what about the author's personal view ofLife after Death? This is indeed the question which led the author to startthe journey of his own soulmaking: Is death "the final stumbling blockto soulmaking? The main point of this book is that to answer suchquestions, we should look to experience, not to 'the authorities'."(p. 163) After all, GROSSO remains cautious: "Given my own experiences- and I know I'm not alone on this score - I can say there are no groundsfor being cocksure about what death is." (ibid.). It is not difficult, however, to discover GROSSO's optimism in this respect by finding himoccasionally pointing to the evidence gathered from other sources to date.As far as his puzzling personal experiences are concerned - which may tooreadily be labelled as "paranormal" (precognitive dreaming, veridical out-of-the-body-experiences, haunting, etc.) by some readers -one might expect that the accounts are followed by the narrator'sinterpretations or even claims of what "really" lies behind therespective incident. The critical reader will be delighted to find thatjust the opposite is the case. The philosopher GROSSO never seems contentwith final explanations and does not get tired of reflecting arguments forand against his own suspicions, always reminding the reader that solvingmetaphysical problems is not necessarily the aim and purpose of soulmaking,we should rather deal with them in a honest, open-minded and self-criticalway. Soulmaking is a fine autobiographical and thus personal contributionby MICHAEL GROSSO, who seems to be well aware of his responsibility as awriter on such a controversial and difficult subject.(This review ispublished in the debut issue of the HUMAN NATURE magazine, Sept. 1999) ... 5-0 out of 5 stars A must have for any spiritual person!
This book is something everyone must have regardless of your spiritual beliefs. If you don't believe in God, get this book. If you don't believe in psychics, get this book. If you are reading my review, then get this book. Even now your are intuitively being led to read this book. It is very cheap with "priceless information". This woman was a angel sent to earth. You will see why in the book.

I am a metaphysician. I encourage this book to be a major course for metaphysicial and non-metaphsyical studies.

As ever,

2-0 out of 5 stars Some helpful information and insight
How do I explain this? The book has some interesting concepts. Wish for good things and good things will happen. Picture wealth and you shall have wealth. Don't get me wrong the premise of positive thought is excellent. But wishing or praying for success, wealth, etc. and having it happen comes across as overly simplistic. For example, with reincarnation the premise is there are lessons to be learned in many lives and in many cases a hard life is one of those lesson needing to be learned by the soul. So no matter how many times you "wish" and meditate to achieve something in a prosperous way, it's not in the cards. Also past life regression in my experience takes a lot more mediation than staring into a mirror. Also, referring to the great sages of Jesus and Buddha, etc. loses it's impact when you understand Jesus (as an example, but Buddha and Krishna also) are mythological characters. Anthropomorphic beings who were personifications of ancient sun worship (if you don't believe me or want to argue, please do your research first - and research means sources outside the Bible which is nothing more than a self-proclamation). In general there are some very good approaches and concepts but at least half the book reads like the author has a very, very active imagination. BnB Beatles Depot

Product Description
In "Out-of-Body Experiences," Peterson taught us the mechanics of out-of-body travel. In "Lessons Out of the Body," he looks at how we can benefit fromout-of-body experiences. Peterson believes we can learn important spiritual lessons during OBEs, because they allow us to experience life from a unique, nonphysical perspective. Peterson first shares what he has learned: how OBEs opened his mind about love, helped him to conquer his fear of dying, and even brought him to his soulmate. He then teaches us to go into the OBE with a deeper purpose: that of learning, growing, and adventuring on a spiritual, as well as a physical level. Peterson intrigues us with such chapters as "How OBE Is Like Fishing and Tightrope Walking," "Are Alien Abductions Really Just OBEs?" and "Using Desire to Achieve Out-of-Body Experiences." Finally, he includes tips for inducing OBEs, a troubleshooting guide, and a question-and-answer section. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Robert Monroe's Far Journey is a better book on this topic
I read Bob Peterson's first book way back in 1998. It was great. I actually followed his method to induce a OBE and one morning I woke up, felt really peaceful, and when I thought I was drifting back to sleep, I actually became conscious of disorientation. It was as if I felt like I was on a rocky boat (my bed felt like a rocky boat), and the rocking increased more and more and I got scared and forcefully sat up to sit up. I guess I wasnt ready to explore this.

This second book by Peterson seems a little "miseleading"(?), since the cover says Spiritual Growth etc. In it, all he talks about are some ESP experiences that he noticed in his daily life. I was hoping it will talk about things similar to Robert Monroe's Far Journey, where lessons and the meaning of human existence can be gained.

In my opinion, Robert Monroe's "Far Journey" (still my all time favourite) and "Ultimate Journey" seems to be the 2 best books that explores the spiritual learnings side of human existence. Where Peterson explores the more "physical" environment and ESP learnings in daily life, Monroe's books explores more of the environments out of our physical reality - other worlds, other lifeforms and consciousness, astrally created environments, and areas out of our known space/time reality.

Get Peterson's first book, it is really good, and also Monroe's 2 other books if you are looking to learn about this subject.

2-0 out of 5 stars not as good as his first book
I bought this book with great anticipation because his first book was so good but was disappointed. Not as much OOBE techiques or experiences out of of the body, but he talks a lot about his life for example how he eventually met his wife and got married.Granted this book was supposed to be more on the spiritual side but I really didn't find that this book reflected that.If you have the first book, I don't think you need the 2nd book for OOBE.

5-0 out of 5 stars An aspect of OBE's that needs to be covered
I have been having OBE's since I was 26 and since then have had too many to count. This book addresses the spiritual aspects of this phenomenon and does it quite well in my opinion. Many parts of the book resonated with me and I was finding myself regularly saying in my mind "Yes, yes I agree with that, that's how I see things too, that's how it is." An excellent book and one well worth buying.

1-0 out of 5 stars fluff.. a waste of money and even worse.. time
I found Peterson's first book very valuable and interesting. This one was clearly thrown together, to ride on the success of the previous one. I read it in one sitting, found myself skimming sections and finding some sections too silly to have been published. For example "Advantages of the OBE over Space Exploration: Space exploration will never tell us what lies beyond the veil of death." did he write that? "OBE costs less." now he's wasting my time and padding the book, "No special degrees.. no special equipment" and "OBE Disadvantages: With OBEs you can't collect any physical samples" ... ANYONE intelligent enough to read, that has every heard of OBE.. oh well, i'm not going on to argue this... It's unbelievable that this could get printed. Now that I reread this fluff, i'm insulted that he got my money for such stuff. Peterson, you should be embarassed. There's certainly more than one lesson you haven't learned.

5-0 out of 5 stars Buy this book if you want to learn about OBE and spiritualty
Robert Peterson has written a great book on out of body experiences and what you can attain from them, like SPIRITUALITY!!In his new book he has stories and lessons from over 20 years of experiences. He also has some OBE tips at the end of the book. This is the book for you if you want to learn how to go out of body and learn the deeper reasons for what this spiritual experience can do for your life!!! ... 2-0 out of 5 stars Poor writing style defeats the message
This book has some interesting content, nothing new standard new age metaphysics, but it is, without doubt, the worst written book I've ever read. It has the tons of repetition, so much that you don't see what's new in the repetitions. Curious use of words. There is a long explanation of "paradigm" then the word is misused.... defeating the purpose of all the preparatory pages. If this was edited down to 10 or 20 pages it would be worth reading, but needs the work of a professional editor. But there is not enough content for the effort.

5-0 out of 5 stars An amazing little book.
This is a unique and impressive book. Bill probably has one of the best descriptions of "mind" out there (and I've read Nisargadatta, Maharshi and Wilber). Bill's background in hypnosis has given him some unique insight into the inner workings of how our reality is presented to us through the paradigm of our mind. Bill's exercises for breaking this paradigm are similar to others that use breathing, watching one's thoughts and inquiry. While reading this book it's clear that Bill has been privy to something that is rarely experienced, that he has truly returned from the rabbit hole.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent book! Explains life's deepest secrets...
I have read many many books on varying religions and philosophies including Buddhism, Sufism, self-realization, and New Age theories, etc.I have traveled to India, Nepal... I consider myself to be an avid seeker ofthe truth (what ever it may be).I strongly recommend anyone who issearching for the 'truth' to read this book.A friend lent me it - I readit and every time I picked it up it gave me a strange vibration.Afterreturning the book to my friend I ended up ordering a copy for myself toreread. This book explains all of life's deep mysteries, reality, reincarnation, perception, life, death, truth, etc...Stronglyrecommended.

5-0 out of 5 stars At Last
This is the book I have been waiting for, ...for years, even though I didn't know what I was looking for until I found it. Having felt spiritually stuck for too long it seemed, and after reading a long run ofregurgitated philosophy with New Age euphemisms and spins, WilliamCozzolino's book has given me that rare "Aha" feeling over andover, from page to page. I'd forgotten what it felt like to take a big, spiritual leap. When the student is ready, the teacher appears. Doesn't itseem as if we're forever getting ready? But "The Path" is mylong-awaited teacher and catalyst, as it is now for many. It has changed mesince that first "Aha" and keeps changing me from moment tomoment, as a new way of thinking runs in my mind's background. I catchmyself looking at the universe, the unfathomable ALL in a different way.New knowledge and insights are a wonderful adventure for spiritual seekers. And "The Path" was very much worth the wait.

Product Description
As beings of this earth, our life's spiritual purpose is to find out just who we are. While on this journey, we are touched by many who are seeking their way.Through each other, we experience what is known about living. This book is a lighthearted tale about one of the pilgrims who confronts his psychic nature and learns of things metaphysical while on the path of self-discovery.His jaunt produces illuminating encounters with ghosts, Spirit Guides, shaman, healers, psychic surgeons, power spots, sacred sites, out-of-body experiences and other unexpected energy manifestations while he searches for the yellow brick road to enlightenment.

The book begins with Chapter Three. In order to understand the reason the writer departed from the time-honored tradition of beginning at Chapter One, one needs to know that his spirit guides woke him quite unexpectedly at 4:30 AM one rather cold December morning and informed him that it was time to begin his book. In his words: "I was totally taken by surprise by their direction; not so much due to the early hour, but because I never had the slightest inclination or vaguest clue that I would ever become involved in such an enterprise.Sitting down in front of my word processor with a freshly brewed pot of coffee, I dutifully typed "Chapter One" at the top of the screen, fully anticipating that my Spirit Guides would immediately begin their dictation.I had learned some time prior to this moment not to question their direction, since they always seemed to understand what was best for my personal growth.

I patiently sat...and waited. Now, I am the first to agree that Chapter One would have been the logical place to begin. But, since there was a distinct absence of anything profound manifesting on my computer monitor after over an hour, I elected to bypass it for the moment and skip to "Chapter Two."I cleared my head and refocused my efforts.Figuring that I was now well underway in the writing of this unexpected epilogue, I was confident that this second chapter would unfold with much less difficulty than the previous one.

This maneuver proved equally fruitless. For some reason for which I have no logical explanation, I modified the previously typed heading at the top of the page to read "Chapter Three."At that VERY moment, as if by magic, the words suddenly began to tumble out of some unknown location and appeared on the computer screen before me.Looking down, I observed my fingers with fascination as they moved and bumped into each other with the excitement of a new adventure, and the book began to unfold before me."If you sensed that this is an "unconventional" story, you are correct! This is NOT be one of those typical stereotype dissertations on spirituality or psychic awakening; nor, is it similar to all of the other esoteric, "How To Do" books that crowd the shelves of the popular New Age metaphysical establishments.Instead, you will discover that it is the tale of a common citizen, a regular guy, perhaps not unlike yourself, whose life suddenly took an unsuspecting turn at precisely 6:45 p.m. on a Fall Sunday evening over a dozen years ago!Although the book may appear to be the saga of one man's path to awareness, it is imparted in order to illustrate how each of us may understand and apply the metaphysical principles which truly exist on this physical plane, once we give ourselves permission to experience them. There are many paths out there and this story involves only one of them. However, the truth is that ALL paths ultimately lead to the same place: self-awareness, truth, growth, and to the understanding and acceptance of what reality truly is.He suggests that there are basically two concepts you need to know about reality.First, reality is defined by your individual experience, and second, it can be changed! The only reason you may not have had a similar journey up to now is that you have not been aware that it was one of your options! And how do you select your options?Read the story!

But his story doesn't begin at the BEGINNING. Instead, he again departs from tradition and commences near the finish.(This will satisfy most of us who prefer to read several pages and then skip to the end in order to get a sense of what may lie in between). So, you are invited to explore his adventure as he experienced it.And if, as you begin reading, you recognize that what you are comprehending is YOUR truth, then continue, observing the clues in your life that might lead you to YOUR path as he did his...So, begin at the end... Which is actually the beginning... Which begins at chapter three...! ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Awakening to the voice within
I read The Search for Truth years ago and the underlying message still resonates with me today.Until reading this book I was never aware of the distinction between who I thought I was and the one who can actually sit back and watch the interplay of life without participating in its melodrama. What a freeing place to dwell.I have learned over time that this place is the very same as the Self of which Buddha speaks and the universal consciousness which is mentioned in the teachings of various religions. Mr. Singer does an excellent job in presenting another way to approach life that can lead to the ultimate happiness which we all seek.

3-0 out of 5 stars So promising, yet disappointing at the end
I bundled this book with IONS' first offering, The Untethered Soul, by the same author. My hope is that Mr. Singer makes up for the shortcomings of this much earlier text with his new one.As for 'The Search for Truth', I have to conclude "What a horrific end to such a promising work."The author 'had me' all the way to the final section entitled "Applying the results".The rest of this volume is brilliant and his Model of Man is an enlightening and, I believe, quite groundbreaking synthesis of psychology, physics and religion. However, one must bear in mind that it is possible to have a very deep knowledge and insight into certain facts, and at the same time vitiate the results of such knowledge by an entirely wrong assumption in regard to the law which binds these facts together in the Universal System. The author failed miserably to answer the question 'Why', which is promised on the back cover. In fact, as far as I can tell, he never tried.

I suspect Mr. Singer himself suspected as much during the composition of this final chapter as it contains none of the joy and exploration so prevalent in those previous.Instead, we are admonished to forsake all desire for what he would lead us to believe is our ultimate and inexorable fate - an eternal life free of all of life's pleasures!Where is the joy in his river of universal energy?Where is the love in this amalgamation of pure thought, the purpose of which he does not hesitate to offer?

The universe is life, by its very nature, not death, and to think of all desire as 'illusory' at best is to deprive life of its reason for being, if not its very means of creating.

That said, I will treasure this book for its valuable insights into our true nature and possibilities, the value of which I will determine by my own introspection and personal quest for 'enlightenment'.

The search continues...
