5-0 out of 5 stars The Conscious Universe ---byDeepak Chopra
Expressing the Conscious Universe is how we are...it's what we do. Everyone is an expression of doing whatever we are doing at a given point in time, and at the moment I am typing this review sharing my experience of where my consciousness lives.

If the ocean is an expression of the vastness of our consciousness and each wave that ebbs and flows in an out of existence represents our life, then when our life ends it goes back into the all of our existence to form a new wave of consciousness again, and each time it blends with the all of everything there is and has been forever, then the next time we are able to bring ourselves up to another level of understanding that enriches each of us and is a benefit to the whole of creation.

Just a note...when Deepak shares at the end of this lesson that when we are looking at anything from our view in our consciousness such as a flower, or a tree or a beautiful sunset or our Beloved...that it is God seeing Himself or Herself through His eyes and that is all.I was so moved by these words that I listened over and over again so I could experience that moment of realization...beautiful and thought provoking.

5-0 out of 5 stars Bridging the gap with spirituality
Biology in Western science has no capacity for the concept of soul because it is so embedded in a materialistic modelChopra shows us how close quantum physics is getting to understanding the soul, more expansively spirit, and how that can be applied in the biological model. It is only until we can grasp the praciticality of spirituality and bridge the gap between the realms of religion and science that we will understand the true meaning of healthAs usual Chopra does a great job laying out the science on the lattice work of Vedanta

4-0 out of 5 stars Oneness
Deepak has, in my opinion, written a transparent and empowering book on the reality that is just beyond our physical ability to see. The knowledge contained within this book is not new, rather it is hidden wisdom built up by the ancients over millennia, thatDr Deepak has sought to communicate to a wider audience through this book. The belief that we are all energy and interconnected on a level higher than our physical form, has been conveyed by many in the past, with limited success. Dr Deepak's approach differs greatly from others in that he is not encapsulating his words of truth in religious dogma or informing the kind of fragmention that often occurs when one seeks to own something that was created and visioned by many. As one who came to the book fully converted to the 'oneness' concept, many of thepoints made by Dr Cheepak were easily digestable to me. I feel that the a-religious style adopted by him, coupled with the absense of gargon and easily transferable ideas presented in the book makes it an easy and extremely empoering book to read.

5-0 out of 5 stars How to do real magic
This book is a very clear and direct explanation of how to manifest what you want in your life. As Marelin explains, life is not what it appears to be, but what we think, feel and expect. To change what we get, we must first change what we see on the inside. As she puts it, "You have to BE it to see it, and you must see it to be it." There are many books around that tell us that we create our own reality; some are very helpful, but few are written in as concise and direct a way as Merlin's Message. This book works on both sides of the brain --the left, by describing precisely how the universe works; the right, by the inspirational tone, much of it in verse. I would highly recommend this book to anyone familiar (maybe even burnt out) with metaphysical and new age philosophy as well as anyone new to the idea that reality is a mirror of our thoughts and feelings.

5-0 out of 5 stars Really Cool, and so True!
This book is just PACKED with easy-to-understand TRUTHS about yourself, your life, etc. I have told several friends to read this, and they, have also bought it.
An excellent little book for anyone who wants to know more about how to be more 'personally powerful' people.

5-0 out of 5 stars A wonderful little book!
This lovely book is highly empowering! It is a priceless reminder of who we truly are, from the vantage point of seeing ourselves as being wizards who playfully create our lives interactively. As Marelin the Magicianwrites, "Nothing happens to you; everything happens through you". This book is truly a pocketbook; it fits in my pocket so I can carry italong and read it when I'm traveling.I find it highly uplifting everytime I need an extra boost of good cheer, since every page is full ofpositive affirmations and optimistic statements.I love the way this bookreminds us to live our dreams -- I highly recommend it!

5-0 out of 5 stars Truly the Best Book I have ever read--by far!
This little book is enormous in its scope, the usefulness and validity of its message, and the light, playful presentation of the most cogent material. Marelin has not only given us the laws of Creation in verysimple, loving language, but also a truly beautiful explanation of howthese laws work for our unbounded benefit when we apply them consciously. Applying these laws is easy and fun because we're already doing it all thetime anyway and because we already know, inside, that what she says istrue.Marelin makes it very clear that we do indeed create our ownreality--all the time--good or bad; and that we are FREE to choose goodwhenever we want. Why not NOW? I love this book because it says everythingI have always known, but diidn't know I knew. I am an author of spiritualbooks also (check my name at Amazon.com), and Merlin's Message is exactlywhat I need at the absolutely correct time in my life.I now know that Iattracted this book into my life.I cannot recommend it highly enough.READ, ENJOY, AND BE-U-TO-FULL!

5-0 out of 5 stars A VERY BIG SURPRISE

Yesterday, I had a doctors appointment and stuck it in my pocket. As I satin the waiting room I started reading, and SURPRISE! the next thing thathappened was the nurse was shaking my shoulder. I have never been soengrossed in a book before. The information is exactly what I needed. I seeall these commercials on the TV for these psychics. Well, this book is allyou need. ... Read more

Product Description
J.W.Dunne ("Intrusions?," "The Jumping Lions of Borneo," "Serial Universe") first published his ground-breaking theory of time in 1927.Spurred by dreams and other personal experiences to an intense interest in the nature of time and human perception, Dunne designed an experiment whose purpose was to isolate the barrier dividing our knowledge of the past from that of the future.Conversant with the concepts and language of physics - which he deemed inadequate to describe a world that is largely experiential - Dunne weaves an intriguing, intelligent, and convincing theory that has earned him a place of honor among the twentieth century's brightest minds.

- Brilliant theory that puts Dunne in the ranks of Einstein, Hawking, and other pioneers of physics and consciousness research

- A scientific experiment to probe the nature of time and the barrier dividing knowledge of the past and future

- Contains one of the first scientific arguments for human immortality

- Explores the relationship between dreams, time, perception, and reality

- As original and thought-provoking today as it was three quarters of a century ago ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars A boring book wiwth one brilliant insight.
What can I say? I was very disappointed in the main part of the book.I had read it before, 75 years ago when I was 14, and found it very interesting on precognitive dreams. This second time of reading I realized that only one small section of the book is really about that type of dream, the rest is Dunne's own idiosyncratic rendering of an obscure, impossible to grasp, theory about time.It reads like a badly written engineering manual for deaf-mutes.I wanted the book for acollector's item and for reference in an article I have written on precognitive dream theory. As such it was worth the $70 to me.

4-0 out of 5 stars Borges on Dunne
This book is certainly interesting, not only in theory, but in presentation. Dunne is excited about his discoveries and yet his enthusiasm does not muddle the preciseness of his observations. It is an exposition of wonders, geared to explain away phenomena like clairvoyance, déjà vu, telepathy, etc., but he is positive and professional all throughout, at times playing his own skeptic, chicanery-free. Given the burden of proof, the scientific validity of the book will always be called into question. A previous reviewer believes that "the main problem arises with the writer's assumption of time having an unlimited number of dimensions. This is a statement that Dunne does not even try to prove at any point of his otherwise rather meticulous analysis." In other words, Dunne conceives of time as being another dimension of space. He has no recourse but to assume that time has dimensions like space because humanity has rather limited tools of perception for the purpose of such a study. If time has dimensions, then it will take time to measure any unit of time, and one will need another unit to measure the measuring time, and so on, until infinity. In such a model, real time would be the unattainable border of this infinite series.

What this reviewer regarded as "mind-boggling philosophical statements" I found to be charming intuitive gems:

"Evolution has worked for possibly eight hundred million years towards the development of the brain. Today, as Professor McKendrick points out, nearly all the functions of our bodies are operating towards the end of the adequate nutrition of the grey matter. And it now appears that, apart from its self-sustaining and self-developing activities, the brain serves as a machine for teaching the embryonic soul to think."

My opinion of the book is best summed up in a preface written for the second Spanish edition by Jorge Luis Borges. It can be found in BIBLIOTECA PERSONAL (Emecé, 1998). Borges later wrote an essay incorporating elements of the preface called "Time and J.W. Dunne" (1940), which is included in his SELECTED NON-FICTIONS (Penguin, 1999).

Since the essay can be found easily enough, here is my translation of the preface, written in 1934:

"A literary historian may one day write the history of one of its most recent genres: the title. I recall none more admirable than the one on this volume. It is not just for show; it ignites our interest in the text and, sure enough, the text does not disappoint. It is conversational in character and opens up marvelous possibilities for our conception of the world.

J.W. Dunne was an engineer, not a man of letters. Aeronautics is indebted to him for an invention which proved its efficiency in the First World War. His logical and mathematical mind was opposed to all things mystical. He arrived at his strange theory via a statistical study of his nightly dreams. He explained and defended the theory in three volumes that provoked a clamor of polemic. H.G. Wells accused of him of taking the first chapter of his "The Time Machine" (pub. 1895) much too seriously; Dunne responded in a note to his second edition, which is now in print. Likewise, Malcolm Grant refuted him in A NEW ARGUMENT FOR GOD AND SURVIVAL (1934).

Of the three volumes that constitute his completed work, THE SERIAL UNIVERSE is the most technical. The last, NOTHING DIES (1940), is downright popular science, meant for radio dispersal.

Dunne proposes an infinite series of times that flow in and out and because of one another. He assures us that upon our death we shall be handed the happy reins of eternity. We shall recover all of the instants of our lives and compose them in whatever manner is most pleasant to us. God and our friends and Shakespeare shall collaborate in this."

And the closing line of the essay:

"So splendid a thesis makes any fallacy committed by the author insignificant."

3-0 out of 5 stars A Time With Experiments
I read this book in a university metaphysics course. The assignment was to perform a confirming or disconfirming experiment and, based on this experience and other readings, write a paper on experimental method. This book is an excellent tool for motivating critical thought, if one is so inclined.Or it can be read for warm and fuzzy new-age woolgathering.Whether you think it is science or hokum, it is a stimulating book suitable for college sophomores.Draw your own conclusions.

5-0 out of 5 stars Time and Dreams
This book is an interesting look into the mind of J.W. Dunne, who was an early British aeronautical engineer and inventor. He was also a philosopher of sorts who, in this book, explores the nature of time and dreams. This book fascinated me when I first read it and today is still worth multiple subsequent reads. The first few chapters are easy to wrap your head around, however in subsequent chapters Mr. Dunne uses graphs and table to explain vastly complex notions about time.If you are good at variable-centric math or sciences and enjoy a good book on the nature of reality, this is a good book for you.I find that the ideas that Mr. Dunne examines in this book hold both mystery and truth still today after 80 years.

5-0 out of 5 stars Infinite regress
I first read this book 55 years ago, and am glad to have it back in print.Dunne wanted to explain prophetic dreams, and made a good stab at it, though postulated his observers multiply endlessly. ... Read more

Product Description
Edgar Cayce (1877–1945) was the premier mystic/psychic of the Western world, whose many predictions about reincarnation, evolution of the soul, health issues, and Earth changes comprise a legacy that affected countless people. Cayce also predicted that he would return in 1998. Through facts and circumstances, channeler David Wilcock makes a convincing case that he is the reincarnation of Edgar Cayce. His parallels to Cayce include a remarkable physical resemblance, astrological charts, personality traits, correlations in the development and awareness of their psychic abilities, and the apparent connections of Wilcock’s close friends to Cayce’s intimate associates. Wilcock also examines Cayce’s many predictions about global health issues and Earth changes, and gives guidance to those who want to understand the significance of these changes now taking place. Black-and-white photographs enhance this examination of the spiritual legacy of Edgar Cayce by the man who claims to be his reincarnation. ... Read more

Loved it and it was inspiring to want to make myself a better person in each moment.

5-0 out of 5 stars Edgar Cayce Reincarnation
I have just started reading this book but once I get started on it I don't want to put it down.

5-0 out of 5 stars AN AMAZING READ!
I've only recently discovered the details of Edgar Cayce and his beliefs/healings. When I stumbled across this book I was oddly anxious to get my hands on it since I'm not a huge book reader. Low and behold it is exactly the information I need in my recent experiences. I too have been experiencing the feeling that we are going through a dimensional shift of some sort and that information/energy has been flowing through my consciousness.

But in this book the similarities between Cayce and Wilcock are profound! Everything from Wilcock's appearance to his astrological chart in comparison to Cayce's . Non believers might walk away saying...hmm are we preparing to ascend? I left the book saying, Wow the world is not going to end, it is getting ready to evolve!

4-0 out of 5 stars I'm convinced
Is David Wilcock the reincarnation of Edgar Casey? More than likely, as far as I am concerned. You'll have to read it for yourself to make up your mind. Compelling.

1-0 out of 5 stars A poorly written self promotion
This book is so poorly written that I was sure it was produced by one of those Vanity Presses.I was very surprised to see that Amazon sold this amateur written work of self-promotion.The cover of the book depicts a very small picture of David Wilcox. This is one in a serious of coincidences which attempt to make the case that David Wilcox is the reincarnation of Edgar Cayce.Although I have studied various spiritual paths that believe in reincarnation, this is the first time work in which looking similar was a prerequisite for reincarnation. (p146) This would invalidate the Dali Lama when he speaks of reincarnating as the opposite sex or even as an animal during various incarnations.

It is very difficult to wade through all the trivialities and repetition in this book. The first portion is devoted to Wilcox's biography.By page 95, the book makes the case that Wilcox is actually "Ra-Ta", an Egyptian high priest in 10,500 BC.This allows Wilcox the ability to channel "Ra"- a "social memory complex".Various Ra predictions are entered as evidence including:the name of a restaurant, which was then driven by the next day, a parking ticket, and of course - the bombing of the World Trade Towers. The bombing prediction was not released to the public "due to (it's) ominous prediction", but we are assured that "the original audiotapes are preserved in chronological order".The remainder of the book is information taken from the Ra readings and Wilcox's summaries of "research".

The A.R.E. organization does not recognize David Wilcox as the incarnation of Edgar Cayce. They were wise not to hitch their wagon to Wilcox, due to the nature of Wilcox's current work.Google Video had a posting of Wilcox's presentation at the Conscious Life Expo (2007?).Conspiracy theorists often use the tactic:If "A" is true, and "B" is true, then "C" must be true. However, David fails to make the case for A or B.Citing crop circles as works of E.T's, then pine cones in ancient Pagan art (they're really pineal glands, not pine cones), then onto "stargates hidden under Antartica"... the presentation relies on a great sense of imagination (and gullibility). Then Wilcox shows slide after slide of Sci Fi films, and proclaims that all these inventions are real. The "black ops" guys feed information from these secret government operations to screen writers, who then incorporate them into movies. Then if we question a "reverse-engineered pineal gland chair" (a real Wilcox assertion) - that the government will insist it's "just a movie". The term given was "hiding in plain site".

Unfortunately, this work of self-promotion goes well beyond simple entertainment.I was lead to investigate Wilcox after learning an acquaintance of mine sent this man over $1000 in donations to continue his work.It reminds me of those televangelists who solicit donations from the elderly;my acquaintance has sunk deeper into debt while sending Wilcox cash.Do your own investigation of Wilcox.Learn about peer-reviewed journals versus studies published in obscure magazines. Watch the National Geographic documentary on crop circles. If you are still attracted to conspiracy theorists and do not require factual proof for your beliefs, then Wilcox may be to your liking.

Like all of the Swami Bhakta Vishita titles by William Walker Atkinson, The Development of Seership presents an occult subject and idea to the masses, attempting to teach the reader to reach higher planes, search the inner eye, and attempt to become clairvoyant. Atkinson, as Vishita, lays out Lessons that take the reader through the steps of developing a mystic sense, reading and interpreting the future, communing with the afterlife, and using clairvoyant knowledge for good.SWAMI BHAKA VISHITA is one of three Hindu aliases and pen names of American writer WILLIAM WALKER ATKINSON (1862-1932), editor of the popular magazine New Thought from 1901 to 1905, and editor of the journal Advanced Thought from 1916 to 1919. He authored dozens of New Thought books under numerous pseudonyms, including "Yogi," some of which are likely still unknown today. ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars pros and cons
Clairvoyance by C.W. Leadbeater is, from my standpoint, a very hard to locate book.At around $28.00, this copy is also quite expensive. On Amazon there are several books that come up when searching for this one, usually with yellow covers, that only include about 18 pages, which is basically sold one chapter at a time. This version of the book is complete. however, for the price, I was expecting a higher quality of printing and packaging. The text on the pages isn't even typeset, or a "fresh" version - it is more like a xeroxed manuscript, with crooked letters, blurs, and toner spots. The binding and cover are flimsy at best. I guess what's really important are the words, and I mean, it IS the actual text of the book in its entirety, but if you have any taste for packaging or collectability, this will leave you disappointed. Looks aren't everything, but a $28.00 xerox in a bland cover is not what I expected.

5-0 out of 5 stars Academic not Hokey!
One of the best and most credible accounts on the phenomena known as clairvoyance I have ever read.I wish I had discovered this author ten years ago!A very good read.

5-0 out of 5 stars Insight of the astral vision
It was one of the first books by C. W.Leadbeater I have read and I was truly inspired to read it further and further. As a nautral psychic, the author writes, in his natural way, about his own experiences in thephysical and astral plane while using the 'clear sight'. Moreover, it showsit is possible for mostly anyone to acquire this ability and also shows thewonderful advantages of having this so-called gift. Finally, this practicalyet complex book gives a few instructions which can be useful to peoplelike us who wish to develop and perhaps start seeing as clear as its authordoes. ... Read more

2-0 out of 5 stars Most readable of Twitch's books
Think he really tried with this one.And it was a money-maker (shake your little money-maker).Much more readable than any other Eck book other than the one on herbs which was ghost written for Twitchell.I liked it and the ideas, but I just couldn't keep up with the self-hypnotism in the same way other reviewers apparently have.If you're good at self-hypnotism, this is the book for you!

5-0 out of 5 stars The Tiger's Fang
An excellent ECK book. If you are a seeker of truth, this is one book you will want to add to your home collection. Mr. Twitchell lived a very
interesting and adventerous life of mysticism.

5-0 out of 5 stars One of the best books I have ever read
This book gives you a glimpse into the different levels of heaven... and if your open minded will change you for ever.If you looking for divine love and spiritual freedom this book is a must read.If you love truth and or God again it will change your life.

For me it opened up all kinds of possibilities I didn't even know existed. One thing that it really opened up for me is that we can experience heaven before we leave this body upon death. And this book gives us a road map and how to directions that are inspirational and take out much of the fear.

Product Description
Have you ever felt the presence of someone who had died? Or dreamed something before it happened?Or had an uncanny sense that “I’ve been here before” about a place you’re visiting for the first time?

Sylvia Fraser is one of those people to whom mysterious events often happen - weird coincidences, glimpses into the future, apparent communication with the dead. In The Quest for the Fourth Monkey, Fraser not only shares these incidents but she also tries to understand them.

In each chapter, she deals with a “supernormal” topic, such as reincarnation or telepathy, by recounting her own experience, and then by searching for rational and scientific evidence to support the principles involved. Her research takes her into Western philosophy, Eastern mysticism, quantum and astro physics, biology, parapsychology and holistic medicine. Her range is astonishing. Historic figures such as Buddha, Hippocrates, William James and Carl Jung share the stage with today’s physicists and Nobel laureates.

Along with her own provocative anecdotes, Fraser recounts the remarkable stories of others whose experiences took them into startling realms.Nor does she shy away from re-examining the evidence supporting persons whose stories have been mistreated by history. These include psychoanalyst Wilhelm Reich who discovered an energy called “orgone” that he believed could be used to treat cancer by boosting the immune system; Edgar Cayce who, in a trance, could diagnose illnesses and prescribe treatments for people hundreds of miles away in languages he didn’t know when conscious;Bridey Murpy, an eighteenth-century colleen who may - or may not - have reincarnated as a Colorado housewife. Then there are the identical twins, separated at birth, who coincidentally gave their dogs the same name, married and divorced women of the same name, married second wives of the same name, gave their first sons the same two names, had the same jobs, hobbies, likes and dislikes, even though they’d had no contact whatever until age thirty-nine.

In her process of self-discovery, Fraser not only invites us to share her journey, but she also challenges us to reexamine our own lives for the psychic and spiritual clues that we may have been missing. In so doing, we open a skylight to a Universe more wondrous and illuminating and exciting than we ever dared to imagine.

CONTENTS:

Telepathy: THE FAX OF NATURE
Psychic Power: HEALING THE HEADLESS HORSEMAN
Holistic Healing: IN SEARCH OF THE FOURTH MONKEY

Coincidence: THE SOUND OF COSMIC LAUGHTER
The Future Foretold: WARPS AND ALL

The Quest for the Fourth Monkey (originally published as The Book of Strange) was awarded a 1994 American Library Association Booklist Medal.

“Fraser’s undeniable talent . . .is everywhere in evidence. Relax and prepare to enjoy a fantastic, sometimes astonishing tale, expertly told.”- Quill & Quire

“An ambitious work in which Sylvia Fraser acts as a guide in the catacombs of the collective unconscious. In probing the world of the unseen, Fraser deftly explores the fallacies of a Western civilization blinkered by rationalism and the twin gods of science and technology.” - Joe Fisher, author of Hungry Ghosts.

1-0 out of 5 stars Disapppointed
I believe in walk-ins and was looking forward to reading the book because I suspect a friend of mine to be a walkin. However, I just didn't care for this book.I was very disappointed. It just isn't very well written.

I also couldn't grasp how the photos of different locations related to each of the chapter.A cathedral in Paris?A statue in Bath?A library in Ephesus? The images/photos had no connection with the text or the content in each chapter.I wondered if the photos were "filler" to make the book bigger or maybe it was from someones past life regression?Anyway, it seemed out of place.

I also didn't care for comparisons to scriptures or religious interpretations, such as the blood of Jesus etc.I just couldn't connect with the different religious undertones and dogma.I just wasn't expecting that in this type of book.

I did enjoy the recorded regression sessions of her patients, however. It seemed that in these recorded sessions I was given the opportunity to come to my own interpretations and conclusions without some of her bias.

5-0 out of 5 stars Yes, I'm a Believer
Prior to encountering Dr Mitchell's book, I was a 'Doubting Thomas' but having voraciously read it five times in as many months, I am now convinced of its powerfully liberating truth. As a further validation, I have actually experienced the phenomenon. Just after Christmas, 2006, while I was watching a re-run of 'Uncle Buck', I felt John Candy enter my core as a 'walk-in' (more of a wobble-in, really). He then grabbed the remote and asked for some popcorn. In the three months since taking up 'inner residence', he's eaten me out of house and home, used my credit card to purchase several 'marital aids' for my pastor's wife and run up a huge long-distance phone bill talking to John Belushi. I've given up trying to get the rent he still owes from February. In view of this distressing new dimension to my psychic perception, I'm seriously considering applying for a 'soul exchange'. I think Mahatma Gandhi would be a far more convivial, and much less demanding, entity of enlightenment.

3-0 out of 5 stars Needs EDITING!
For the most part an interesting book, but severely in need of editing. There are numerous spelling ("cemetary," "short-sited," etc.), punctuation, and grammatical errors, as well as repetitiveness--Dr. Mitchell often begins a section "in medias res," then repeats that very same section again, word for word, on the next page. This leaves the reader jumping forward and backward in time with regard to the session being discussed, which is somewhat disorienting. Also, the strange use of odd fonts is quite distracting: on at least one occasion, the font changed in the middle of a sentence, switching from the rather flowery bold font (see "Look Inside" preview) to a regular Times Roman. Very jolting.

The stories themselves are fascinating, and I am glad to have been able to delve deeper into the world of Walk-Ins through reading them. It would have been helpful, however, to have such information---which would likely challenge most people's paradigms---presented in a more coherent manner. As it is, the writing style flips back and forth between fiction-like narrative, poetry/quotations, and layman-directed clinical observations. More confusing still was the absence of end quotes in many places, which left me re-reading passages trying to figure out who was speaking and when, as the speaker would often shift within the same sentence.

Also, aside from the list of questions on the back cover, there is little if any information provided on how to tell if you're a Walk-In. The majority of the book is devoted to the accounts of counseling sessions Dr. Mitchell conducted, so perhaps it is assumed one can glean the information from the various stories presented.

Overall, I would recommend reading this book for the underlying information, but check first to see if your local library has a copy before spending the money on it.
