School Homework Policy homework must be done in order to ensure Parents should help a student with revision skillabilities sentence structure, punctuation, spelling, correct grammar http://student.stcatherineschool.org/6shpolic.htm
Extractions: HOMEWORK POLICY A NOTE TO PARENTS AND STUDENTS Dear Parents and Students, trying to do the assignment, but makes the teacher aware that the student needs help. The student should bring in his/her attempts to do the work, so the teacher can determine where the problem lies. Sixth graders should spend at least one and a half to two hours a day on homework; seventh graders , two to two and a half; and eighth graders , two and a half to three hours. Remember that this includes study and reading time as well as written work. Weekends might be a good time to work on research and long term projects, especially since weekdays are so often full with sports and other activities. ABSENSES ARE NOT AN EXCUSE . Call the school for the assignment or call another student. Students should have a "study buddy" that they can rely on for assignments or even help with homework. Short bursts of study with short breaks in between have proven to be more effective. NO TIME IS ALLOWED IN SCHOOL FOR HOMEWORK, and if a rainy day recess is used, it is only for a very small portion of the total time that should be spent on the work. Studying takes concentration and the job of student doesn't end after five school hours. THE LANGUAGE ARTS PROGRAM language leads to success on many levels.

I want to thank all of you for sending in your $100.00 so that we can reserve our space for the Gold Country Prospecting Trip coming May 18, 19 and 20th. This month in Science the students are continuing their study of electrical circuits. Today we discussed possible projects that they can do with a partner that demonstrates their knowledge and understanding about electrons and electrical energy. I would like them to start thinking this week about what Electrical Experiment they would like to test. They will need to perform this experiment in class. A one page to two-page write-up with a drawing of the demonstration is also required. More about the requirements, due date and a rubric will be coming home soon. Please help your child find quiet time each night to read a good book. I have tons of great reading books in my room that they can check out. There are so many good books to read, and I want them to enjoy reading. Our local library and the Book Loft in Solvang also have excellent books to read. I want my students to enjoy reading and turn off the TV. Books are so awesome and fill the mind with knowledge.

Extractions: Please make sure to send in a note if your child will be picked up. If your child needs to be picked up every day, or will always be picked up on a particular day of the week, one note to inform us of this fact is sufficient. Please feel free to drop us a note or phone us at school about any problems your child is experiencing. Many problems can be cleared up quickly with some direct communication. The best time to phone is between 8:00 and 8:15 in the morning or from 2:45 to 3:00 in the afternoon. Conferences are scheduled in late November and early December and take the place of a first term report card. Other conferences are scheduled on an as-needed basis throughout the school year. Book club orders are optional. Sometimes children do not inform parents of this fact. We send them home because the book companies provide free books according to how many books we order and it is a way of providing a classroom library.
