Extractions: Verner Jensen Papers Rod Library-Special Collections University of Northern Iowa Verner Jensen was a faculty member at the University of Northern Iowa from 1965, when he began as Instructor of Physical Science, through 1991, when he retired as Professor of Physics. These papers consist of material related to Verner Jensen's professional career. Of primary importance are correspondence, minutes, reports, and other material relating to the General Education Study Committee (1974-1976), of which Jensen was Chair. Also of significance is material relating to the Writing Across the Curriculum project. Jensen introduced a journal-keeping component into one of his physics classes as part of this project. Other papers in this collection include material relating to the physics curriculum and to Jensen's experience at Argonne National Laboratory and the Naval Academy. Professor Jensen gave these papers to the University Archives in the summer and fall of 1998. The notes that he made about various parts of his papers are included in the appropriate folders.
