Anyone a parent, grandparent, relative, or friend can set up an account for a future college student. There are no restrictions based on age, income, or state of residence. You can even set up an account for yourself. Contributions can be invested in four investment options. The Program offers an investment menu designed to complement the college savings goals of a broad range of participants. For an all-in-one investment approach, you may want to consider the Programs age-based investments: the Managed Allocation or Aggressive Managed Allocation options. Wilson, EPIC Founder EPIC - Every Person Influence Children is a national not-for-profit prevention program that helps parents, teachers and members of the community raise children to become responsible adults. EPIC provides a school-based character education curriculum with an award-winning parenting program to achieve its mission. EPIC was born out of a tragedy experienced by founder, Robert Wilson, whose wife was murdered in 1977 by a 15-year-old neighbor, a foster child whom they had befriended. How could the boy perpetrate such a crime on someone who trusted and cared about him? Investigation of the child's life indicated that he had been abused, neglected and placed in eleven different foster homes. He did not experience or understand love; he knew anger and violence. While it was too late to change what happened to his beloved wife, Wilson felt that it was not too late for others, and in 1980 established EPIC in Buffalo, New York. EPIC is now in schools, churches, hospitals, and community agencies throughout New York State (including four regional offices and six parent resource centers) and has been implemented in 16 states and the Virgin Islands.

And health education, prevention and promotion efforts are generally important in preventing health crises and creating a public constituency for healthier neighborhoods.

The agreement was signed by NDI President Kenneth D. Wollack and UNDP Administrator Mark Malloch Brown at UNDP Headquarters in New York. As part of this new partnership, UNDP and NDI will join efforts to enable legislative bodies to engage in national policy-making and oversight as an independent branch of government and to become effective and accountable representatives of their constituents. The agencies will also enhance the ability of civil society organizations to promote good governance and help political parties build their organizational capabilities, act as voices of an informed citizenry, and expand public participation in the political process. In addition, UNDP and NDI will strengthen electoral processes by working with civil society organizations, political parties and election officials to ensure open and democratic elections by helping to develop legal frameworks, organize international and domestic election observation projects and assist in voter education. The two agencies will also help decentralize decision-making to ensure that governments are responsive to their peoples needs, and support civic organizations in educating citizens to become active players in the political life of their societies.

While the number of deaths of firemen and police officers from this horrific incident cannot be accurately counted as of yet, we know that we are looking at a figure of over 400 brave people. Sadly, the number of children who have lost a police officer or firefighter parent in the rescue effort will easily total over 1,000. This number is seven times the number of children the Foundation currently has money set aside to help.
