Who's Who Of The Haight-Ashbury Era Features short biographies of the people involved.Category Society People Baby Boomers The following libaries have it, but you'll have to ask to see it San Francisco PublicLibrary Stubbs, Bob Owner of Blue Unicorn and the Phoenix Now in hawaii. http://colinp1.home.mindspring.com/hip-dbf.htm
Extractions: This is a list of short (thumbnail size) biographies of people who were somehow involved with the events of the Haight-Ashbury era, 1965-1967. As it stands, this list is somewhat incomplete and I hope that some of you can help me fill in the gaps or provide information about people who should be on the list but got overlooked. Eventually, I would like to include an in-line image of each person's astrological sign by their names to make it more Hippie-like, but I can't do that until I come up with more birth dates. An important note about the birthdates: many people wrongly refer to the counterculture as the so-called baby boom generation. Almost all the birthdates on this list tell a different story. The baby boomers were actually the teen-agers who flocked to the Haight-Ashbury when the Summer of Love happened, much to the Diggers' disgust. If you have additional information on these people, please send it e-mail to colinp1@mindspring.com Key to terms: On the bus=took part in the bus trip to New York (1964), LRY= Liberal Religious Youth (Unitatian youth group)

Extractions: The first Weeks The first week of this class was for me confusing. While I have had a little experience on computters, nothing came close to what I was about to experiece. The instructions seemed clear, however. upon my arrival at the clic lab I soon knew that This task was going to require a lot of hard work and effort. While I made the best attempts possible in class to prepare myself with good notes and general comprehension of the materal, I soon felt myself in a state of panic when things did'nt work out as I thought they should. Give it a wirl My first attempt was by all means a tragidy. It was atthis point that I felt that this class was going to be a nightmare. And at this point,I still feel like this a majority of the tine. These are all typical of people who are new to information. My first few hours on the computer were just getting to know how the system worked. I've never worked on this type of computer and was almost completly lost. I thought this might be the case after the first class was over and I was so information shocked that I thought about dropping the class. As that first week went by I did feel a little better about working on the internet and was more confortable with the computer. Then the next class rolled around and a new set of problems faced me, was this going anxiety going to last the duration of this class?

Cannabisnews.com: DEA: Drug Money Funds Terror Group Several weeks ago there was an article about a study in hawaii about the ICE problem havea laptop so I'll have to depend on internet cafes, libaries ect oh http://www.cannabisnews.com/news/thread13955.shtml
Extractions: Federal authorities have amassed evidence for the first time that an illegal drug operation in the United States was funneling proceeds to Middle East terrorist groups like Hezbollah. Evidence gathered by the Drug Enforcement Administration since a series of raids in January indicates that a methamphetamine drug operation in the Midwest involving men of Middle Eastern descent has been shipping money back to terrorist groups, officials said. "There is increasing intelligence information from the investigation that for the first time alleged drug sales in the United States are going in part to support terrorist organizations in the Middle East," DEA administrator Asa Hutchinson said Friday. DEA officials said the men, most of whom were indicted on drug charges after their January arrests, were smuggling large quantities of the chemical pseudoephedrine from Canada into the Midwest. Officials said the smuggling went through two primary Midwest locations, Chicago and Detroit, and involved several men with ties to Jordan, Yemen, Lebanon and other Middle East countries. There is no evidence that any of the money was connected to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, officials said.

Extractions: Boulder, CO 80309, (303) 492 - 7042, mccall@spot.colorado.edu Abstract Community memory can provide the crucial bridge between large-scale digital libraries and the day-to-day activities of a community's members. Just as a digital library is based on a general structure and conventional means of access to diverse collections of materials, a community memory culls and shapes the structure of this collection to meet more particular needs; it provides a unique perspective on a larger, more general collection. Useful and usable community memories require support for: (1) the acquisition and evolution of content and structure; (2) the maintenance of mutually intelligible organizations; and (3) the identification of relevant materials. In this paper, we explore issues related to these three requirements based on our experiences with the development and use of shared hypermedia information resources. Keywords : Community memory, hypermedia, digital libraries, collaboration, shared understanding.
