Beautiful examples of Baule art
This is an excellent book, in my opinion, if you are interested is seeing outstanding examples of Baule art captured in exquisite color photographs.These are the most important features of the book to me, because my primary focus is on the art itself.Having said that, the text is certainly of equal value for its coverage of the significance of different pieces and how they relate to the mythology of the Baule people, and how the pieces are and were used.Seeing photographs of the carving of masks and ceremonial use in dance, etc., further helps tell the story of the Baule.I have a significant collection of books on African art, and I personally like all the books in the Visions of Africa series. ...
