Awesome guide
This was a great guide for those of us with deliverance ministries. So much so that I found a place in myself that was unrepentant and required healing. It has helped me in my ministry and assisted me in going to the next level. If we understand that many of us do NOT know how to properly operate in inner healing and deliverance; you wont allow the perception of "arrogancy" to take hold when reading this book. As with anything, "eat the fish and throw away the bones" however; there are certainly more fish than bones. I have passed this book on to many!

So spiritual and so thurough
This book blew me away.It is so detailed into how deliverance and inner healing work.John, Paula, and Mark Sanford are by far the most informed and spiritual experts in spiritual warfare and bringing healing to the hurt.They present the information with supporting evidence from scripture.In certain situations,such as haunted houses, that are not mentioned in the Bible, he clearly states what is his own opinion. I love the way John and Mark Sanford are not afraid to admit that there is a difference between a spiritual problem and a physical problem.This book is recommended only for those who have a strong spiritual understanding.

A Word of Caution
A very in depth book regarding spiritual warfare, demons, etc. I would caution againist reading this if you are not sincerely gifted for the ministry of healing and deliverance. It is not a book for the casual reading or interest.

Not worth it
I realy thought I was going to enjoy this book, but the authors arogant attitude turned me off very quickly. Within the first 30 pages of the book he claims to have delivered more people than almost anybody and he boasts how he and his Elija House team have to clean up the messes made by others performing deliverances. Most disturbing is his boast that he had a demon that he had aquired while involved in occult practices, but it didn't manfest for some time because of his superior moral character. 1st a demons power is in their hiddeness. If we know they are there they can be delt with. 2nd if the demon realy did not manifest or did not influence him it was by the power of the Holy Spirit, not his own moral character. He also claims that sometimes its best not to expell all the demons right away. I don't remember Jesus doing any partial deliverances and I can't fathom any biblical principal that promotes leaving anyone in demonic bondage. As for inner healing, as best as I understand it, it seems to be the removing of demonic footholds in a persons life. I don't know why the author seperates the fields of deliverance and inner healing. The only biblicly based deliverance ministries that I know of incorporate what is refered to as inner healing as part of the deliverance process. The author also promotes feelings over logic and intellect. While philosophic naturalism has led to dead churchs and a denial of anything supernatural, feelings can easily be deceptive which is fertil ground for the father of lies. So it is important to know biblical truth to counter false feelings. Dr. Ed Murphy's Handbook for Spiritual Warfare or any of Mark Bubecks books including the Adversary, Overcoming the Adversary, or The Adversary at Home are much better books on this topic.

Deliverance and Healing Go Together for Optimum Health
This book looks at attachments of darkness, spirits, and how they suppress the body and mind. There is good and powerful information here. I have read many books on the subject, and have been trying to fit in where alternative medicine and these "things" that I know fit together. If you want to go even further, about where these things come from, and more precise methods to "dis-attach" them, pick up Dr. Snow's book on alternative medicine, hands on healing and prayer power, called The Power of Divine, a Healer's Guide on Miracles. The changes that occur often include "undiagnosisable" medical and emotional problems disappearing. Jesus did also - deliverance right along side healing. Many of the illnesses that conventional medicine can't get rid of are actually demon infestation. Read these books, and keep learning where ever you can! ... Read more

Virgil Arising
I never thought anyone could come close to Lucas Davenport's ability but it seems Virgil Flowers is an oncoming prospect. After the first story with his massacre of the Vietnamese shootout he now has a reputation building in Minnesota. Lucas is now his boss and he lets Virgil find his way. In this story he is investigating a murder in the north of Minnesota on a lake with a wealthy women taken down by a assassin type shot to the head. The story follows with a lodge found catering to mostly Lesbians and some AC/DC types. with this some have a band attempting to break into the big time. Alsothere are suspect relatives that make Davy Crockett look like a city boy. The story runs with a lot of wonder and at the end the final pages are quite exciting. Excellent again...
As background, I should mention that I've read every one of the 30 or 40 novels previously written by this author and rate him as unbeatable in the contemporary police procedural/adventure category, compared to the several hundred by the other highly recommended authors in this genre that I have also read. I've also lived in Minneapolis for some years, and worked as a researcher on modern medical practice, two background scenarios of many books in this series, including this one.

So... this is another outstanding chapter in the adventures of Minnesota supercop Lucas Davenport, with a plot that centrally and actively also involves his highly autonomous and talented staff surgeon wife Weather. Several of Davenport's long-standing team, including Virgil Flowers (the hero of another series of Sandford novels), are also involved. The kickoff event is a botched raid by a drug-hunting gang--spearheaded by a drug-addicted ER staff doctor--on the pharmacy in Weather's home base Minneapolis hospital, a raid in which one of the pharmacy staff is killed. The subplot concerns a major multi-day, multinational, rather rare operation to separate a pair of 'Siamese twins.' The storm of the title (Storm Prey) is a big snowstorm that ties up the final battles and chases.

As usual, the author has researched the technical aspects of the medical subplot thoroughly, so one learns a good deal along the way about cranial and other surgery--and, not for the first time, the author's treatment of the nature of addiction and the behavior of the addicts who play a key role, is well-informed and interesting. If this genre appeals, and you don't mind a rather extensive spree of murders, you'll appreciate this effort.

A Writing for Those Who are The Called
This book is not for the everyday christian reader.It is very specifically targeted to those who have the prophetic calling on their life.It deals with the issues that today's prophets must endure in a way that makes it clear that seasoning is not only required but in the hands of the writer.

Excellent Book on Relationships That Has Stood the Test of Time!
This book has stood the test of time. I have nearly worn out my original version of it and pre-ordered the revised version before it had even come out. I have quite a large library on the subject of Christian relationships but this is my favorite. I have given copies away over the years.

The Sandfords, as Christian Psychologists, do not make scripture bow to "wisdom" of cognitive psychology, but use the Scriptures as the grid for psychology and all truth presented in their books. Balanced wisdom that is practical and doable.

I found the discussion of the development of mental disciplines and prayer especially helpful. The concept of dying daily to the flesh took on new meaning as I considered this in light of the Biblical references suggested.

The writing is warm and personal. Although scholarly and profound the book is refreshing and easily understood. John writes with deep conviction and feeling. His words are affirming and heartwarming. Loren's writing is an impassioned message to individuals within the body of the Church to corporate involvement and Covenantal commitment.

"Life Transformed" provides a practical plan for spiritual renewal and transformation and conveys an important message for modern day Christians on a pilgrimage for purity.
