For 15 years, Ms. Walker has practiced personal injury, Social Security disability, and civil rights law, focusing on mass torts, class actions, and federal civil rights. More recently, Ms. Walker has focused on representing plaintiffs in pharmaceutical, medical device, and other health care-related cases. Ms. Walker's son is a computer engineer and her daughter is a Fine Arts student at the University of South Florida. Education Ms. Walker earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors from Denison University in 1968 and a Bachelor of Science with honors from the University of Central Florida in 1977.     Extractions: After graduating from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois in 1935, Walker joined the Federal Writers' Project in Chicago, where she began a brief literary relationship with novelist Richard Wright. She attended the University of Iowa receiving her M.A. 1940 she wrote For My People 1942, a critically acclaimed volume of poetry that celebrates black American culture. In the title poem, originally published in Poetry magazine in 1937, she recounts black American history and calls for a racial awakening. Walker began teaching in the 1940s and joined the faculty at Jackson State College (now Jackson State University) at Jackson, Mississippi, in 1949. She completed her first novel, Jubilee 1966, as her doctoral dissertation for the University of Iowa (Ph.D., 1965). Based on the life of Walker's maternal great-grandmother, Jubilee chronicles the progress of a slave family from the mid- to late-19th century.

    Extractions: Born in Birmingham, Alabama, in 1915, Margaret Walker remembers the bedtime stories her grandmother told about Margaret Duggans Ware Brown and recalls her youthful promise that she would someday write about her great-grandmother. Walker's poetic talent emerged while she was attending schools in Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. In New Orleans, she caught the attention of poet and family friend Langston Hughes, who encouraged her to strive for musicality in verse. Walker enrolled as a junior at her father's alma mater, Northwestern University, when she was just 17. During her undergraduate years, she had her first poem published with the help of W.E.B. DuBois and she began to work on Jubilee . But, by the time she graduated in 1935, the novel was still a rough, unfinished piece.

The opinion of the court was delivered by: Mcgowan McGOWAN, Circuit Judge: The indictment in this case charged that appellant "did dispense and distribute" heroin in violation of 26 U.S.C. § 4704(a) (1964). *footnote 1 The jury convicted appellant upon evidence adduced by the Government to the effect that a paid informer went to the house of one Ulysses Walker, a co-indictee charged with selling, and asked that person to sell him some of his "stuff." Ulysses Walker, so the informer testified, turned to appellant and "told her to get the thing." Appellant returned in a few minutes with a black bag, handed it to Ulysses Walker and remained in the vicinity while Ulysses Walker removed two packets containing heroin from the bag and handed them to the informer in exchange for $30 in marked government bills. Because the trial court instructed the jury upon the presumption founded upon possession which is contained in § 4704 (a), and because appellant urged upon us certain alleged infirmities in that presumption, *footnote 2 we deferred consideration of this case after its submission until action by the United States Supreme Court in the then pending cases of Leary v.
